Kindergarten Standard 1: Word Recognition, Fluency and Vocabulary Development Language Minority students will listen, speak read and/or write to convey knowledge of sounds, syllables and word parts with oral and silent reading. ELL.K.1.1 Listen to English phonemes and connect with phonemes students already hear and produce. ELL.K.1.2 Understand letters and groups of letters have coordinating sound(s).
