Wishing all of you a very enjoyable and fun packed vacation. From a Railway Carriage Faster than fairies, faster than witches, Bridges and houses, hedges and ditches; And charging along like troops in a battle, 1

All through the meadows the horses and cattle: All of the sights of the hill and the plain Fly as thick as driving rain; And ever again, in the wink of an eye, Painted stations whistle by. Here is a child who clambers and scrambles, All by himself and gathering brambles; Here is a tramp who stands and gazes; And there is the green for stringing the daisies! Here is a cart run away in the road Lumping along with man and load; And here is a mill and there is a river: Each a glimpse and gone for ever! GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: The holiday homework is based on the topic travel. Let s wander, explore and discover many interesting things about your city. All the work should be hand-written and done neatly. Original drawings / illustrations and creative use of material will be appreciated. Present your work on A-4 size sheets and put it in an attractive folder with your name and class clearly written on the top. You must have enjoyed reading the poem From a Railway Carriage. Find the name of the poet of this poem. Learn the poem also. A follow up worksheet based on the books read, websites looked into and hobby classes attended by you will be given after the vacations.
