The protection of our rich cultural heritage and maintaining continuity of the National culture constitutes an essential cultural base for promoting unity in the nation. Keeping this in mind, last year the very famous monument HUMAYUN S TOMB in New Delhi has undergone some important Restoration work. Find out the historical importance of this great monument. Archeological Survey of India has undertaken a major renovation work here. Research on its renovation details and write all details on an A-4 sized sheet. Use the following guidelines to do this activity. Also paste/ draw a picture of this monument. Reason for its renovation. When was this renovation completed? How long did it take to complete this renovation work? The name of the team involved in its renovation. Who is the head of this project? Which part of the tomb had undergone renovation? Which metals were used in this work? ACTIVITY II Look at the pictures given on Page-9 showing different Heritage sites across the World. Likewise, there are many sites across India also which have been selected by the UNESCO as World Heritage Sites. Find facts about any 1 of them and identify why it has been selected?
