TERM S OF REFERENCE P-5 1. To prepare suggestions and recom m endations on Im port and Indenting Polic y, Tariff and Trade Facilitation. 2. To put forward initial reaction on new Import Policy. 3. To devise wa ys and m e ans to im plem ent suggestions of the Im porters, Indentor s and Trading Entr epr eneurs. 4. To review im plem entation of Im port Policy, Tarif f and Trade Facilitation f rom tim e to time and make necessary suggestions / recommendations to remove problems / difficulties, if any, being faced by the businessmen and entrepreneurs. 5. To devise ways and m eans f or tarif f rationalization, custom s m odernization, por t management and other necessary trade facilitation measures. 6. To perform any other assignments assigned by the Board / President. MEETINGS: The Convenor and in his absence the Co- Convenor shall convene the m eetings in consultation with the Coordinating Director and the agenda of such m eetings m ust be approved by the President. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COORDIN ATING D IRECTOR, CONVENOR, CO - CONVENOR: ( a) Coordinating Director shall initiate holding of m eetings of the S/C, through the Secretariat of DCCI and advise on adoption of resolutions / recomm endations in conformity with the policies of DCCI. ( b) Coordinating Director shall present the m inutes of the m eeting of the S/C to the DCCI Board, put f or ward reasons and justif ications f or adopting any or all resolutions and shall play the role of liaison between the S/C and DCCI Board. ( c) Convenor and in his absence Co- Convenor shall preside over and conduct all m eetings in consultation with the Coordinating Director with an objective to develop entrepr eneurship and strengthen leadership qualities with special emphasis to young, educated and talented members. ( d) Coordinating Director shall m onitor the recomm endations, resolutions and suggestions of the S/C as per DCCI policy and Governm ent r egulations f rom tim e to time. QUORUM: The presence of 3 (three) members in the meeting shall form the quorum. CO-OPTION: For better f unctioning of the Standing Comm ittee, if any co - option is necessar y, the Coordinating Director shall br ing such case to the notice of the President f or necessary action.

N O T E: 1. The Standing Com mittee shall subm it its sugge stions / r ecom m endations to the Board of Directors f or approval. 2. Besides the nom inated m em bers, all m em bers of the Boar d of Directors are entitled to attend m eetings of the Standing Comm ittee. DCCI Secretar iat shall ensure sending notices of the meeting to the Directors. 3. Mem bers rem aining absent in 3 ( three) consecutive m eetings of the Com m ittee without pr ior notice shall be deem ed to have vacated their m em bership of the Standing Com m ittee. 4. The term of off ice of the Standing Com m ittee shall b e one year, if not other wis e decided by the Board of Directors. 5. The Standing Committee shall convene at least 3 ( three) r egular m eetings in a year (excluding emergency meetings and meetings on policy issues). 6. The Standing Com m ittee m ust subm it th eir repor t on its activities within 30th Septem ber, 2014 in order to incorpor ate the sam e in the Annual Report, f ailing which the Standing Committee's report will not be included in the Annual Report.
