SECTION TWO COMPLETING THE APPLICATION This sectio aims to explai each part of your applicatio ad should be read i cojuctio with Sectio 8 of the regulatios for the registered professioal title of Chartered Egieer. 2.1 COMPETENCE STATEMENTS What is competece? Competece is simply the prove ability to do somethig effectively. Your professioal competece as a egieer is your ability to apply ad exted your skills ad kowledge of egieerig priciples to solve o-routie problems i a safe, effective, ad ethical way. The hallmark of a professioal egieer is the ability to apply the learig outcomes gaied durig study to work-based situatios. Durig your professioal review, this is assessed as competeces. The Europea Quality Framework defies competece as "a demostrated ability to apply kowledge, skills ad attitudes for achievig observable results". You should review Sectio 8 of the Regulatios before completig this sectio of your applicatio. Please ote that the attributes listed i this sectio of the regulatios are to assist you i your applicatio, you are ot obliged to aswer all of the questios. It is quite likely that you will ot be able to demostrate work experiece i every area, but you should be able to demostrate sufficiet experiece withi each of the competeces. 2.2 CAREER SUMMARY TABLE This is a sample of the table that will form part of your applicatio. You should describe the resposible experiece ad traiig you have udertake durig your iitial professioal developmet. You should pay careful attetio to idetifyig your ow persoal resposibilities throughout the applicatio. The assessmet will ot be o how your employer or team delivered services but o your ow ivolvemet. Whe describig your career, please highlight: your persoal cotributio ad resposibilities; the problems you faced; the solutio(s) you foud; the egieerig judgemets you made; ad, the impact did your solutio(s) or judgemets have. This sectio should be o more tha 2,000 words 2.4 CPD AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT STATEMENT 2.4.1. CPD table This is a sample of the table that will form part of your applicatio. This should be completed i reverse chroological order from curret date back. Please list your CPD activities uder the headigs below. Ideally your CPD should be a bled of these various types as per the table below. For your applicatio you are required to demostrate a miimum of five days, or 40 hours, CPD per aum for the two years prior to applicatio for the registered professioal title of Chartered Egieer. Istead, it should remai a essetial part of your professioal career, i lie with your commitmet to your professioal developmet ad the code of ethics. Your future developmet statemet should iclude a idicative pla for your developmet over the short, medium, ad log term. SECTION THREE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCE I order to be successful i achievig the registered professioal title of Chartered Egieer, you must achieve the followig miimum levels of developmet i each of the five competeces: a miimum of level 2 i all five competeces; ad, a miimum of level 3 i three of the five competeces, oe of which must be competece oe or two.
