Recently ranked fifth in the nation for engineering jobs, Auburn Hills is home to over 40 international corporations from over 30 countries and is considered a leader in Michigan s business community. In their free time, students will find a charming downtown, outdoor recreation at one of our many parks, as well as sporting and concert events at venues like the world-famous Palace of Auburn Hills. The Auburn Hills Public Library (on the Civic Center Campus across from OU) offers resources like popular books, movies, music and even video games for check-out. The Library also provides free Wi-Fi, computers for public use and printing services.
Living in Auburn Hills Oakland students will find many ways to enjoy a great quality of life in Auburn Hills. Popular recreation spots include trail heads to the Clinton River Trail, Auburn Hills Skate Park, Civic Center Park complete with nature trails, disc golf and picnic areas, and River Woods Park, a facility with scenic paths and bridge over the Clinton River. Auburn Hills is also home to Fieldstone Golf Club, a premier facility with practice greens and reduced prices for resident students.
Shopping Auburn Hills is home to Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, one of the state s largest destination shopping centers and the home of AMC Star Great Lakes 25 Movie Theater. Dining options are plentiful, with many in walking distance from campus. Entertainment Less than ten minutes away from campus stands the Palace of Auburn Hills, home to the NBA s Detroit Pistons and host to the hottest music and performance acts right to our front door. Auburn Hills is just a short drive down Interstate 75 from Comerica Park, Ford Field and Joe Louis Arena.
Health and Safety Students and parents can have peace of mind because Auburn Hills is a safe place to live. The Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments are across the street from OU at the Auburn Hills municipal campus. Health care services are close-by, with OU s Graham Health Center on campus and Crittenton and Beaumont hospitals within a 10 minute drive of Auburn Hills.
Downtown Auburn Hills Downtown Auburn Hills is home to highquality housing including the Auburn Square apartment building which offers studio options ideal for student living. Also Downtown is the University Center, which includes high school and college classrooms and the Downtown Education Nook (The DEN), a renovated historic log cabin converted into a student community space complete with modern amenities like free Wi-Fi, indoor and outdoor seating and study areas. This is all right in the heart of Downtown Auburn Hills, where students will find cafes, restaurants and a number of parks. Downtown Auburn Hills is also home to the Auburn Hills Farmers Market which runs May through October each year.
