DofE News... On 19 th October, 6 Priory students began their Duke of Edinburgh s Award Gold qualifying expedi on. They travelled on foot for over 8 hours each day through the Lake District, taking in summits of some of England s most impressive mountains including Skiddaw and Catbells. For four days they carried everything they needed with them, cooking their breakfast and evening meals followed by camping. All the while they were being assessed on how they made their journey, their planning and execu on of the expedi on and how much they learnt about the tourist industry in the Lake District. All 6 students managed to successfully pass their expedi on, through sheer hard work and team spirit and are now only a month or two away from fully comple ng their Gold DofE Awards. Gold DofE is one of the hardest and most recognised awards that young people can achieve outside of their studies so a massive well done to Sophie Moriarty, Ella S llwell, Ben Green, Nicole De la Cruz, Alex Cross and Ben Hill!
