New City College is London s second largest college, with 16-18 year old students from a range of countries, located in the dynamic east of the city, close to the financial and artistic hubs. We have good success rates at our college and 88% of our students went into top UK universities last year. Students can choose from a wide range of courses and a great student experience as well as studying and living in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Alternatively, they can study at one of our vocational or English language courses in the beautiful seaside town of Bournemouth at the British Council accredited Westbourne Academy. Whatever you choose, our friendly international team will work hard to ensure that the course and accommodation is right for our students. Requires all staff to complete Safeguarding Awareness training. Agrees with homestay providers the curfew times when students aged 16 and 17 years old must return home by. These are 10.30pm Sunday Thursday and 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday. Checks that students under the age of 18 attend all their lessons within 15 minutes of the start of the lesson. Arranges for all students under the age of 18 to have a meeting with an Advanced Safeguarding Trained manager on their first day at school. Makes sure that students are aware of UK licensing laws for the sale and drinking of alcohol. Checks that staff and homestays accommodating students under 18 complete enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
