Students can do a Minor, Majors or Honours. Majors or Honours must be combined with any other discipline or program in the Faculty of Arts. A Minor in International Development Studies may be taken by any UNB student. For information on the Minor, Double Major and Joint Honours, see the BA General Regulations. Admission into the Major or Honours program is open to any student who has successfully completed 60 credit hours towards the BA degree. Students considering International Development Studies as part of a major or honours program should consult with the Coordinator of International Development Studies at UNB. Inquiries about the International Development Studies Program should be directed to Dr. Koumari Mitra, Coordinator of International Development Studies, Faculty of Arts UNBF. 458-7997. Minors For a minor in International Development Studies a student must complete IDS 2001 (3 ch), IDS 3002 and 18 ch in relevant advanced-level courses. Majors For Majors in International Development Studies IDS 2001 and IDS 3002 as well as 24 ch in relevant advanced-level courses must be completed. Honours For Honours in International Development Studies IDS 2001, IDS 3002 and IDS 4900, as well as 24 ch in relevant advanced-level courses must be completed. Required Courses IDS 2001 Intro to International Development Studies IDS 3002 Seminar in International Development Studies

Thesis In addition to IDS 2001 and IDS 3002, Honours students must also complete an honours thesis: (IDS 4900: Honours Thesis in International Development Studies). After acceptance into the Honours program, the student must identify a thesis supervisor and develop a thesis proposal. A copy of the thesis proposal must be provided to the Coordinator. Upon completion, a copy of the thesis is to be submitted to the Coordinator by the supervisor along with a recommended grade. Please note that those students who are required to complete both an Honours thesis in a departmental discipline and one in IDS cannot have the same supervisor for both thesis. Elective Courses Courses must be chosen from the list provided annually by the Coordinator. Other pertinent courses from the UNB and STU calendar may be taken after consultation with the coordinator. +
