Church-wide Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Church Announcements Sunday, January 30, 2011 New Worship Service: A contemporary worship service for ages 19-30 is being held at 100 Orange Drive at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday. Young Adult Bible Study: The Saturday Morning Christ Connection (SMCC) will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011, for all young adults (20's, 30's, and 40's) in the Fellowship Hall. You are welcome to bring your children. The mission of SMCC is to present the Word of God through study, worship, training, mentoring, and evangelism in order to develop faithful Christians. New Members Orientation: New Members Orientation will begin this Sunday immediately following the 7:45 a.m. worship service and each Sunday throughout the year for members who united with our Church. All members who have united with the Church and have not completed or attended this mandatory orientation are encouraged to do so. Adult New Members Orientation 17 years of age and older is held in the Family Life Center upstairs in Room 3 and the Youth New Members Orientation 16 years of age and younger is held in the basement Room B5 in the main sanctuary building. Celebrating Black History On Saturday and Sunday, February 19 and 20, 2011, the Stitching and Quilting Ministry will present an exhibit of quilts, crochet and sewing projects made by participants. Special features of the exhibit will be a display of approximately 400 dresses made for the international mission project Little Dresses for Africa. Also featured will be an old fashion quilt Bed Turning at 11:00 a.m. and repeated at 1:00 p.m. The exhibit will be in the Boone-Lacy Fellowship Hall. Contact persons are Sis. Meetings and Workshops Recreation Ministry: The Recreation Ministry will meet on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center. Youth Department and Travel Annual Super Bowl Fellowship: The Youth and Collegiate Ministries will host its Annual Super Bowl Fellowship on Sunday, February 6, 2011. The fellowship will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Ages 12 years and up are encouraged to attend. Passage Ministry: We are excited to open on-line registration for the Passage Ministry, beginning today. The Passage Ministry is a year-long program beginning in February and ending the following year in February for youth ages 12 and 13. Pastor Davis completed the Phase V curriculum and encourages Phase IV candidates to continue their journey through the Passage for an additional year. For candidates who are currently in the Passage, you will receive an auto-generated Passage email, follow the instructions and you will be registered.
