Spanish GCSE Personal Learning Checklist 2016 2017 AUTUMN TERM Mark on how confident you are with each topic and what you need to do, use this as a checklist for your revision notes and then to keep track of the topics you have revised. Tick and date once you have completed the tasks. Topic How confident am I? I know the personal pronouns in Spanish for I, You, He/She, W, Usted etc. I know and conjugate fully the endings for regular ar, -er and ir verbs in the present tense. I know and can conjugate the irregular verbs ser and estar in the present tense. I know when to use ser or estar. I can change a verb from its infinitive into the correct person of the present tense to fit sentences. Theme 1: Identity & culture

Relationships with Family & Friends: I know the personal pronouns for my, your, his/her, ours. I can confidently introduce myself in Spanish to give basic information about my name, age, birthday, nationality and where I live. I can talk /write in extended Spanish, about the members of my family, their names ages, birthdays etc. I can describe what myself and my family / friends look like and who I resemble. I can recognise a range of adjectives to describe somebody else s personality traits. I can write/ talk about the personality of others and say who I do and don t get along with and why. I can recognise vocabulary about marital status in Spanish and can say what my future plans are for marriage / having a family. I can read and understand an extended text in Spanish on the topic of Family & Relationships and can decipher/ identify key vocab, concepts and information.

I can listen to an extended recording in Spanish on the topic of Family & Relationships and can pick out key vocab and information. I can understand exam style reading or listening questions in Spanish and can answer in Spanish too using vocabulary in the texts to help me. I can start to write short sentences in Spanish in response to a picture/photo to describe what I can see. (practice GCSE writing) I can write 40 90 words in Spanish accurately from memory on the topic of myself and my family. (practice GCSE writing) I understand the vocabulary in CORT IT and can use this vocab in my own work. Theme 1: Freetime Activities Hobbies: I can recognise and know a variety of hobbies and freetime activities in Spanish. I can talk / write about what hobbies I practice and use time frames to say how often I do them. I can recognise a range of opinions about the pros and cons of hobbies in Spanish.

I can confidently use the verbs gustar and encantar to say what I like / love and to say what other people like eg A mi hermana le gusta / A mis padres les gustan. I can ask a question in Spanish to find out what other people like to do in their freetime. I can confidently and accurately translate short sentences from English into Spanish and vice versa. Music: I can understand key vocabulary and texts on the topic of music genres and preferences. I can talk / write about what type of music I prefer and why. TV & cinema: I can understand key vocabulary on film genres and opinions about viewing habits. I can talk / write about the types of films I prefer and about a film I have seen / my favourite film. I can effectively ask somebody out to the cinema in Spanish and buy cinema tickets. (practice GCSE role play) I can read and understand an extended text in Spanish on the

topic of Hobbies and can decipher/ identify key vocab, concepts and information. I can understand exam style reading or listening questions in Spanish and can answer in Spanish too using vocabulary in the texts to help me. I can listen to an extended recording in Spanish on the topic of Hobbies and can pick out key vocab and information. I can write 40 90 words in Spanish accurately from memory on the topic of Hobbies (practice GCSE writing) El preterito: I can recognise the past tense in Spanish I know the endings of the past tense and can conjugate regular verbs in the past tense. I know common irregular verbs in the past tense to say I went I saw, I did etc. I can write / talk about what I did last weekend in Spanish using a range of verbs. El deporte: I can recognise a variety of vocabulary on the topic of sports and opinions about sport. I can talk/write about the sports I play and how often & my favourite athletes.

El imperfecto: I can recognise the imperfect tense in Spanish. I know the endings of the imperfect tense and can conjugate regular verbs. I know three irregular imperfect verbs ser ir and ver I can write / talk about what sports I used to play when I was younger. La comida y comer fuera: I can recognise a variety of food and drink items in Spanish. I can talk/write about what I usually eat and what I used to eat. I can understand a typical Spanish menu. I know a range of phrases to be able to order food in a Spanish restaurant. (GCSE practice role play) I can use usted and usteded when asking questions
