Drama Year 7 Homework Schedule Content Research and create a presentation based around the purpose of Drama. When creating your presentation you should think about the following: Why we study Drama, How it can help us in our future careers, What we can learn from the subject How it helps us to prepare for adult life 2 hours Arts Art During this year your experience in Art will incorporate Aboriginal; Greek and British culture. 08/01/2018 12/02/2018 Your tasks are the following: Create a theme board on one of these cultures. Choose one image from this culture and copy it, A4 size in any medium. Write a short paragraph about how you have used colour, shape and pattern in your image. Design a leaflet Imagine The Garibaldi School is going to have a big exhibition on world culture. Design a folding leaflet to advertise the exhibition. Think of a name for the exhibition and include the image that you created. 2 hours

Music Year 7 Homework Schedule Content Continued The task is to explore musical traditions from around the world. You are to learn/research the main characteristics of the different musical traditions from the following countries: Arts (continued) Africa China India Please answer the questions below for each country: What does the music from that country sound like? What instruments are used? What do the instruments look like? Draw a picture of at least THREE instruments from each country. What materials are the instruments made from? Name a famous performer from that country. How is music from that country normally composed? (Is there a particular technique that is normally included to write music?) This can be done in the form of a booklet. 2 hours Total 6 hours Science Students have been studying cells during term 1 and they should now be aware of the structure and function of animal and plant cells. The student's task is to create a labelled 3D model of a plant or animal cell. Class teachers will provide more information regarding the task during lesson time.

Year 8 Homework Schedule Content Subject Homework Description: Time Taken: GCSEs in Science now require students to understand the scientific method in great detail as part of their exams. During lessons students have started working on their lab skills. Science To reinforce understanding students will have a range of homework tasks that include writing methods, presenting data, interpreting data, drawing conclusions and evaluating. Class teachers will provide more information regarding the tasks. Geography Rainforest project Students are to complete a project on the tropical rainforest. This will extend the module on the theoretical sustainable use of a tropical rainforest studied in Year 7. Students will research specific studies of sustainable use and the impacts of deforestation on local communities in the tropical rainforests and the globe as a wider community. Please note this project will run for two half-terms and in total will last for 12 hours. The class teacher will provide further help and guidance with this during lesson time. 6 hours 08/01/2018 19/03/2018

Marketing Campaign Year 9 Homework Schedule Content Business Studies History Students will need to develop a range of marketing activities including market research to support a launch event for a new product. Students will receive a work pack with guidance and sheets to complete. Students will be given a work booklet about the Norman Conquest consisting of a range of revision materials and exam questions. Students should complete the booklet and self-assess the exam questions before handing in. Students may use their exercise books, textbooks or the internet to help them complete the tasks. 6 hours 08/01/2018 27/02/2018 6 hours 08/01/2018 27/02/2018 Physics Geography Year 9 students have completed a monitoring assessment last half term. Each student has had areas highlighted for them to help them improve their ability to answer exam questions. Their teacher will give them some tasks to complete on these areas, they will then have the opportunity to complete these exam questions again. Flipped learning task. Coasts and Rivers are two of our new topics later in the year. In advance of this we would like students to create 2 sets of mind maps on coasts and rivers. These need to be finished in advance of teaching the content. Your teacher will fully explain the task in your lesson.

Design & Technology Year 9 Homework Schedule Content Continued In lesson your teacher will give you a number of exam questions from the revision book to work through at home. There is one section to be completed each week and these will need to be handed in before half term. Students should continue to develop the following based on their work in lesson time Performing Arts English LA1- Reflective and analytical logbook notes LA1- Power point presentation Books can be taken home if required but must come back to school for each lesson. Students are currently studying the play An Inspector Calls. Students need to complete the following two tasks. 1. For this task, students should research the historical context of the play. Their research should cover: J.B. Priestley (his life and political beliefs) What life was like in 1912 (class, gender) How life changed after 1945 2. Based on your research create a fact file/poster/revision aid to show your understanding Your teacher will show you an example so that you understand the quality and depth of research we expect from you.

Science Year 10 Homework Schedule Content In order to prepare them for the exams at the end of the course, students will be given revision sheets of the content they have covered so far in the course. When complete they will then use these to answer exam questions on these topics. Maths Every term in Maths students are given either paper or electronic homework weekly.

Year 11 Homework Schedule Content Subject Homework Description: Time Taken: Cambridge National Sports Studies homework is re-sit exam revision. Students will have had a mock exam week commencing 5th December and the actual exam is on the 12th January 2018. Cambridge National PE History Performing Arts Cambridge Nationals Sport coursework support sessions will be held in week 2 of the Year 11 revision schedule. Monday for Option 3 group Wednesday for Option 2 group Sessions take after school in Room 15 (please see the fortnightly revision timetable). Students will be given a work booklet for the Norman Conquest consisting of a range of revision materials and exam questions. Students should complete the booklet and self-assess the exam questions before handing it in. Students may use their exercise books, textbooks or the internet to help them complete the tasks. Develop and improve your rolling logbook entries using the feedback provided via email. You should also make use of the Theatre at lunch or after school to rehearse and refine your practical work. 6 hours 08/01/2018 21/02/2018 Physics Year 11 are coming to the end of their Science course. To help them with their revision students will be given revision sheets based on content they need to revise as a result of their recent mocks. When complete they will then use this to answer exam questions on these topics.

The Great Outdoors Students need to produce three Evaluations Teaching & Learning Panel, Tree of life and Mini- beast sculpture, *A work sheet will be given out to support this in lesson. Year 11 Homework Schedule Content Continued Art & Design Science Resistant Materials Each evaluation should be on separate pieces of A4 paper. In order to score high marks in your evaluation you need to answer the questions in an essay style. The more you write and the more specialist terms you use the higher your mark will become. You must also include notes about potentials and limitations of all of the materials used and Health & Safety. Remember these are extremely important documents, done well they can push your final grading to Distinction. Year 11 are coming to the end of their Science course. To help them with their revision students will be given revision sheets based on content they need to revise as a result of their recent mocks. When complete they will then use this to answer exam questions on these topics. Student will be given a mock Section A of the exam where they will be expected to research the theme for the question. Half way through the half term, students will be given the exam question to answer using the research gained. Students research will be gone through in lesson, time and feedback will be provided prior to the release of the exam style question. Business Studies Students are working to complete their final Unit of coursework and are therefore expected to spend an additional 6 hours of study to maximise their Grade. 6 hours 08/01/2018 16/02/2018

Revision Cards Year 11 Homework Schedule Content Continued This homework schedule is designed to support both the Exam and NEA elements of the course. In preparation for the final exam you are to create a minimum of 15 revision cards (12 minutes per card 3 hours total). The cards must meet the following requirements: Computing Be A6 in size (use cards available from Mr Chatten's room) On the front in a clear colour have a title/concept to be covered (linked to syllabus RAG) Underneath this a clear text book definition with examples/diagrams if necessary Along the bottom of the front an exam question linked to this concept should be listed (more than one is better) On the back you should write the text book response to the question(s) from the front of the card. To make these cards effective you should use a range of colours and if possible icons, imagery to help remembering these concepts. After half term all revision card resources will be checked. In support of your NEA assessment you are to spend time practicing and preparing for this difficult piece of work. Activities can include: Coding practice in Python (bingo mock and other exercises) Reading up on administrating the project Revising concepts like flowchart creation, test plans and writing effective pseudocode. You should allocate no less than 3 hours to this preparation.
