Contributors Kibra Adagish obtained her BA in Accounting from the University of Asmara, Eritrea. She graduated with a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2010. She is currently working to become a Certified Public Accountant in the United States of America. Contact details: kibraflower@yahoo.com Engela de Crom is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nature Conservation in the Science Faculty at Tshwane University of Technology. She teaches Animal Studies and Ecotourism related programmes. She holds a Master s Degree in Zoology from the University of the Free State. She also holds a Master s Degree in Sociology (cum laude) and recently completed a Master s Degree in Applied Positive Psychology (cum laude), both from the North-West University. She obtained her interdisciplinary PhD in Environmental History from the North-West University in 2005. Engela s research interests focus on the positive relationship and interaction between humans and the natural environment. She currently works collaboratively on multidisciplinary research projects with a number of departments from the North-West University and UNISA. She is actively involved in research projects and supervises masters and doctoral students in the field of humannature interaction and environmental history. He obtained his PhD in Marketing from UCT in 2000 and has published over 100 papers in peer reviewed national and international journals, and was listed among the top researchers at UKZN in 2016. He has supervised about 40 masters dissertations and 7 PhD theses since 2011. He currently has 6 PhD students all over Africa. Desan Iyer is an Associate Professor in Law and the Deputy Dean, Teaching and Learning at the Faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law at the University of Zululand. He is also an admitted attorney who practised the law before moving into higher education. He is currently teaching Legal Research Methods to final year law students. He has presented papers at local as well as international conferences and has supervised Masters and Doctoral students in law. He has published academic articles in accredited national and international journals on mainly macroeconomics-related issues and has graduated 4 PhD and 17 Masters students. He has recently become involved in collaborative research with the University of Potsdam on the use of small data in enhancing of predictions obtained from big data. She is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of KwaZulu-Natal where she lectures Management-related modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Contact details: Khoaser@ukzn.ac.za Rembrandt Klopper is an interdisciplinary scholar engaging in, and publishing the results of research focusing on interrelated aspects of informatics, communication science and cognitive science, either as sole author or as co-author. In cognitive science he has written a number of papers on the central role of metaphor in human thinking. Over the past decade he has supervised scores of masters and doctoral students who were working in one of the before-mentioned disciplines. He is a special issues editor of the South African interdisciplinary scholarly journal, Alternation, for which he has edited cognitive science, informatics and management studies related issues. At the University of KwaZulu-Natal he is an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Information Systems & Technology where he supervises masters and 279

doctoral students who are doing research by dissertation on particular aspects of informatics, for example e-education, e-learning, e-government, mobile communication, and the adoption of emerging forms of electronic communication. Over the past three years he has read papers on particular aspects of e-government at four international conferences. He has published widely, attended a large number of international academic conferences where he read academic papers. He has also co-authored three textbooks. Vannie Naidoo has obtained her PhD in Management in 2013 at University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Vannie is an academic in the School of Management, Information Technology and Governance at the Westville campus. She lectures at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in management, small business and marketing. Her areas of research interest are service quality, contemporary management and marketing issues, supply chain, gender issues and entrepreneurship. Contact details: Naidoova@ukzn.ac.za Eric Nealer is a senior Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Management in the Faculty Business Economics at University of South Africa (UNISA) where he lectures in especially Municipal Management and the effective facilitation of basic service delivery such as water, sanitation and human settlements. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Unisa. He obtained his DAdmin in Organisational Theory from Unisa in 1996. Eric s research interests focus on the facilitation of effective, efficient and costeffective potable water supply-, sanitation-, refuse removal-, public housingand environmental management in the dynamic co-operative governance and interaction between humans and the natural environment. Nxumalo is a lecturer in the Faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law, University of Zululand, she obtained her MCom (Economics) Degree from the same University in 2016, she is presently doing a research PhD on the financing models for rural medium to microenterprises using micro-econometric techniques. She is currently working on two papers: one focuses on employing stokvel savings clubs to mitigate lending risks while the other focuses on how the cooperatives savings schemes can assist informal businesses to transit to the formal sector. She is currently a Professor Emeritus at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and holds a position as a senior supervisor at the Durban University of Technology. Having taught financial accounting mainly at the honours and masters level for many years, her focus is now on 281

supervising masters and doctoral students. She is a past-president of the Southern African Accounting Association (SAAA). She has published in both local and international journals and serves on the editorial boards of a number of national and international accounting journals. He obtained a Ph.D. in Industrial and Personnel Psychology as well as a DLitt et Phil in Psychology. He is a registered research psychologist and was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior situated at the University of California (UCLA) as well as a member of the UNISA International Fellowship Programme.
