About Teach East Established as a SCITT in 2014 Working with primary and secondary schools across the city and the University of London under the umbrella of the Peterborough Teacher Training Partnership.
UCAS applications Students can apply online via UCAS Teacher Training to a maximum of three of their preferred training providers simultaneously. The Apply 1 phase is open until 15 September 2015, and Apply 2 is open until 9 October 2015 Information on the students degree classification is captured via the UCAS system and is subsequently referred to for the purpose of provisionally calculating bursary award entitlements
NCTL funding The model for delivering School Direct ITT is a six step cycle, using evidence from each year to inform practice in the following year. Requesting and receiving places Audit and Evaluation Recruiting trainees Employment Receiving funding Training
Funding available to students The School Direct Training Programme is funded by tuition fees paid by the trainee who may be eligible for the standard student support package, including training bursaries, tuition fee loans and scholarships where eligible. Once trainees have accepted places on the School Direct Training Programme (non salaried), they can then make applications for tuition fee loans through Student Loans Company, to cover the cost of their training. SLC will pay the ITT provider in 3 instalments, but trainee attendance must be registered by the accredited ITT provider at the start of each term before payment is made.
SLC Portal Services CMS Courses Management Service is an enabler and it is crucial that course information is added as early as possible to allow students to apply for funding. The accuracy of term dates are vital to student assessments so it is key to ensure that these are a true reflection of your teaching. For those of offering ITT courses for the first time this year, SLC add the courses on to the portal for you. However, going forward it is important to have the courses added and promoted as early as possible. The window for adding Full Time courses opens in October.
