WHAT OUR STUDENTS THINK David Leagh gave up a successful career as a Pharmacist to trai as a Chemistry Teacher ad has recetly completed his PGDE. Whe I decided to do my teacher traiig I looked at all of the programmes available ad realised that Liverpool Joh Moores offered just what I wated. I was really draw to the PGDE ad the opportuity to gai masterslevel credits. For the first three or four weeks of the programme all teacher traiig studets sped time together at the Uiversity gettig a good groudig i the basics. It is a great opportuity to familiarise yourself with the Uiversity, the programme structure ad, of course, get to kow your fellow traiees. Oce i school you begi by observig lessos, the get ivolved with team teachig, the lead a small portio of a lesso ad fially take your first full lesso. This iitial classroom experiece may seem a little dautig but it is also very rewardig. Although givig up my career i pharmacy seemed a big step at the time I ca hoestly say it was the right decisio for me. Seeig the progressio of the childre i my classes is ample recompese for ay sacrifices I have had to make. 7 8
