Required Documents: Students applying through an existing exchange between the student s home university and Tecnológico de Monterrey, must be nominated by their exchange program office or similar. In most of the cases, the student will pay tuition directly to their home university. Course offer: Students will receive the Course Catalog one month before classes start. For a draft of the courses or previous catalogs you may contact: rodrigo.osuna@itesm.mx Language of Instruction: Language requirement: Language courses: Full-time Workload: Grading: An average of 7 to 8 courses are offered in English language each academic term. The rest of the academic offer is taught in Spanish language. In order for a student to enrolled to a course taught in Spanish is necessary a 600 score in the on-line Spanish exam provided by Tec de Monterrey. Tec de Monterrey has a Modern Language Department that offers curricular courses. The curricular language course is Spanish as a Foreign Language. Students can only take 48 ITESM Units (4 courses per term). Each academic course has 12 units, equivalent to 144 contact-working hours. Grade Quality 100 Excellent 99-90 Very Good 89-80 Good 79-70 Average Below 70 Failed Exams: Each professor has his/her own way of grading students, which may vary in the following: - A middle-term exam (open question and/or multiple choice) and a final exam (open question and/or multiple choice) - Final project - Both exams and project - Professors may also apply a quiz about assigned lectures in each session

At the students arrival in Monterrey, they must show evidence of comprehensive coverage. To do this, they need to show a copy of either of the following documents: Letter from the insurance company stating their health care coverage for the complete time of their stay in Mexico. A copy of their health care insurance card with the expiration date of the insurance. Students can send the information with their admission documents or they can give a copy of the insurance card to the staff of the International Programs Office upon their arrival, otherwise they won t be able to enroll. The insurance must be valid since the Official Arrival Day until the Last day of final exams, please refer to the calendar section. The Medical Insurance must cover at least $250,000 USD in coverage for Accidents and illness, Medical Evacuation for at least $7,500 USD, and Repatriation of Remains of at least $7,500 USD. In case the students don t have an international insurance, Tec de Monterrey has an agreement with the companies SETMEX and CHARTIS, they may choose to buy their international insurance with these either company at a special price for Tec students.
Student Visa: The National Immigration Institute of Mexico requires all international students who will come to Mexico to study to apply for a student visa from the closest Mexican consulate in their home country. You will need a letter of acceptance for this purpose.
