Introduction At Sedbergh School we pride ourselves on our standards of dress and appearance. As a rule, our pupils are proud of what they wear and understand it represents all that the School stands for and in doing so maintain high standards at all times. Please ensure your son/daughter returns to school each term with the correct items as detailed in this guide. It should also be used when booking an appointment with Brown of Sedbergh at the start of a Sedbergh career.

All other items must be clearly labelled in easily located positions with sew-in labels Shoes and other footwear should be clearly marked with indelible ink All pupils should have a full-stocked pencil case at the start of each term Notes Linen packs, or elements thereof, are available from Brown of Sedbergh, the School uniform shop for supply to International pupils only and via pre-order to brown@sedberghschool.org Beds sizes are single beds (2 6 sheets are required). Appointments take approximately 1 hour. To book an appointment email: brown@sedberghschool.org All purchases made at the uniform fitting must be paid for in full. We accept debit and credit cards (except American Express), cash and cheques (made out to Sedbergh School Developments Ltd). For pupils arriving unaccompanied, funds can also be deposited into the pupil account by bank transfer prior to arrival.

In addition to the School suit, Sixth Formers may also have a second classic-style skirt suit in dark grey, navy or black. Skirts must be lined and on the knee or below. In addition to the School suit, Sixth Formers may also wish to have a tweed jacket to wear with a suit skirt. Tweed jackets must be classical and muted in style. 3. Hockey sticks, shin pads and fitted gum shields are compulsory for all Year 9 and 10 girls and all team players Girls may wish to bring their own tennis rackets, lacrosse sticks or other specialist training aids.

Sedbergh cricket trousers, shirts and sweaters are essential for all team players and all pupils in Years 9-10. Purchasing of these items is suggested before the start of the summer term* Boys may wish to bring their own tennis rackets, hockey sticks or other specialist training aids. Boys in Years 9-10 will need shin pads, astro shoes and hockey sticks as will those senior boys who represent the school at hockey.
Uniform Rules All pupils to wear white shirts in Chapel and on special occasions. School regulation games kit, bought from the school shop must be worn for all games and activities. Home clothes may only be worn inside boarding houses or after tea on Saturdays and after Chapel on Sundays. School and House hoodies may be worn with regulation games kit after tea during the week. Hair must be natural in colour and not extreme in style. Boys hair must be short and off the collar. Junior girls must have their hair tied up at all times. All girls must have their hair tied up when wearing games kit. Girls are permitted to wear one pair of matching gold or silver stud earrings. No other Jewellery or piercings are permitted (other than Sixth Form girls who may have one discreet necklace and one discreet bracelet) Make up is only permitted for sixth form girls and must be discreet. Tattoos are not permitted. Notes Please note that the shop does not sell school shoes, trainers, wellington boots, running jackets or sports equipment and that the nearest shops to purchase these would be in Kendal, which is an approx. 20min drive. Fell running shoes are available to order from the shop. The shop does stock smaller items such as socks, tights, goggles, shin guards, mouthguards, gloves and net laundry bags and to please contact us if needing further advice.
