CURRICULUM VITAE Updated: 9/1/09 Adam R. Moylan, Ph.D. Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics 814 California Street, #9 University of California, San Francisco San Francisco, CA 94108-2328 3333 California Street, Suite 380 (415) 699-5940 San Francisco, CA 94108 adam.moylan@ucsf.edu (415) 476-6189 RESEARCH INTERESTS A general problem that motivates my research in education and psychology is to investigate the theoretical and practical issues involved in enhancing learners' self-regulation. Although there are numerous models of SRL, I focus on a perspective informed by social cognitive theory. This theoretical approach has the advantage of including motivational and social sources of selfregulation in addition to cognitive and metacognitive sources. Recent and ongoing research has included the following topics: - Enhancing self-efficacy beliefs - Assessment for learning - Metacognition and motivation - Calibration - Feedback and self-reflection processes - Life-long learning EDUCATION Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), New York: Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, 2009.
