In each unit, you will be given a lecture/demonstration and then be expected to perform the lessons for each unit. After each unit, there will be a timing exam. CLASS POLICIES: TECHNIQUE Technique is very important as you learn to type. You must continue to use correct typing technique in order to build speed and accuracy. Technique will be evaluated by your instructor no less than two (2) and no more than four (4) times during the semester. These evaluations will be unannounced. Technique is 5 percent of your final grade, so it is very important to practice it at all times. Some of the key points your instructor will be looking for are as follows: Arms Back Feet Parallel to the body Sit back in the chair and lean slightly forward Flat on the floor (your weight should be on your feet)
Eyes Wrists Shifting On copy (head not going back and forth from book to hands) DO NOT rest wrists on keyboard (fingers should be curved) Shift with the opposite hand than the one with which you are typing the letter to be capitalized Keyboard covers, skins, may be used throughout the semester, including during daily lessons, daily timings, and test timings.
