March 3, 2015, Vol. 2, No. 16 Campaign Results to Date Wave 2 parishes have now raised over $24.5 million, which is 92 their collective goal. 22 have surpassed their goal. Several parishes in Wave 2 are still in the early stage of their campaigns as modified campaigns for unique circumstances have been developed. Commitment Weekends for approximately one-third of the Wave 2 parishes will occur in March. Overall, the campaign has now raised gifts and pledges of $76.8 million or 73 the Family of Faith campaign s minimum $105 million goal. 2014 Charitable Tax Receipts All donors who made a gift to the Family of Faith campaign in 2014 should have received their charitable tax receipt by the end of February 2015. If not, or if you have any questions about your donation or your tax receipt, please call the Donations Processing Centre at 416.934.3400 x536 or send an email to campaign@archtoronto.org. Wave 3 Information Sessions Complete 1) The campaign plan is working. 9 of 10 pilot parishes, 19 of 20 Wave 1 parishes and already one third of Wave 2 parishes have met or surpassed their financial goals. The most successful parish campaigns have been the ones where the campaign plan is followed and implemented on a timely basis. 2) For parishes not using Parish Tools, the campaign office still requires a copy of your database. These must be delivered to the campaign office asap. For parishes that have migrated to Parish Tools 4, the campaign office may still require a copy of your database and will contact you if necessary. If you have any questions, contact Chris Polito, Executive Director, at 416.934.3400 x806 or cpolito@archtoronto.org. 3) Each parish s goal is based on 130 their 2012 total annual offertory including Christmas and Easter, thereby ensuring that each parish regardless of size or circumstances has a goal tied directly to the capacity of the parish. All parishes were provided with the opportunity to appeal their goal if it faced unique circumstances. 4) The Family of Faith campaign office follows the archdiocese s established standards regarding the collection and use of parishioner information. Parishioner information is the property of the archdiocese. For more information visit our website: www.ourfamilyoffaith.ca. 5) Parish case statement worksheets for Wave 3 parishes were due on February 10 th. If you have not submitted yours yet, contact John Ecker, Director, Campaign Communications at 416.934.3400 x805 or jecker@archtoronto.org. 6) Parish case statement photos for Wave 3 parishes are due Wednesday, March 4 th. The campaign office requires specific photos and all non-archdiocesan staff or clergy photos must be accompanied by a completed campaign Model Release form. Page 1 of 5
7) Wave 3 pastors should not form their Campaign Executive Committees without first consulting with their Parish Campaign Director once the campaign period begins. Pastors will be contacted by their director in late March or early April. 8) Parish case statements must be approved by the Regional Bishop. This is facilitated through the campaign office. When available funds due to a parish for its parish share are flowed, the funds must be used for the purposes described and approved in the parish case statement brochure. Additional plans contemplated for additional projects when a parish surpasses its goal, must be approved. Changes or additions to plans should be brought to the attention of John Ecker who will facilitate review and approval. 9) The Archdiocese of Toronto takes donor accountability very seriously. Pastors are being kept up to date regarding their campaign s finances (donations, pledges, available funds). The archdiocesan website, campaign website and direct communication to donors will help ensure transparency and the sharing of timely information. 10) A gift to the Family of Faith campaign is intended to be sacrificial. That means we are asking for parishioner support above and beyond what they are already doing to support their parish offertory, ShareLife and other very worthy causes. Combined Campaigns At St. John Vianney Parish in Barrie, their plans include a focus youth ministry.
