TIP SHEET How to Register for an Epic@UNC class using a Curriculum Epic@UNC classes are now available using a curriculum. You can enroll yourself or you can be enrolled by your manager, supervisor or other designee. Try it Out Registering Yourself 1. Login to LMS 2. From the Learner home screen, click the Learn menu and select Catalog: 3. Click the (More ) link under the ISD Training Includes Epic@UNC, WebI, etc. section:

4. Use the role based category list on the left to locate the appropriate category: 5. Select the appropriate curriculum and click Register:

6. Select a class date/time from each course listed in the curriculum. Use the inner scroll bar to navigate down the page of available offerings. Be sure to schedule courses in the sequence listed: 7. Use either Submit button to complete registration: NOTE: The Submit button activates once a selection is made from each required course.

8. Verify the appropirate sequence of registration from the Activity Details screen:

Try it Out Registering Others NOTE: You must have a Manager level of access in LMS to perform this function. Go to HEAT Self Service (https://unchcs.saasit.com/login.aspx) and go to the UNC Health Care System Online SARF to request it. 1. Follow steps 1-4 above. 2. After searching the activity for which you desire to register a Learner, select it from the Search results, hover over the Other Actions menu and click Register Others:

2. After selecting one of each required activity, click Continue: 3. Scroll down; click Add in the Available Users table:

4. Click Next in the Select Users window:

5. Enter the name of the Learner you wish to register in the Search field, then click the green Go arrow:

6. Select the check-box to the left of the desired Learner s name: NOTE: If multiple Learners are to be registered into the selected class times, after selecting the check-box next to the current Learner s name, type in the next Learner s name into the Search field, click the green Go arrow, and select the next Learner s name from the list. Continue this as many times as needed.

7. Once all Learners have been selected, Click OK:

8. Click the top center arrow to move the Learner(s) to the Registration table; this adds Learners to the roster for the selected activities: NOTE: Check the Available Seats in the Registration table to ensure you are not overbooking a class. 9. Scroll down, click Submit:

Registration Warnings and Registration Blocks NOTE: Learners added to the Available Users table may appear with Registration Warnings or Blocks. Registration Warnings: Click the Warning Issues hyperlink to see a report of activities that a Learner has already completed. Registration Warnings do not prevent a Learner from registering into the currently selected activities.

Registration Blocks: Click the Blocking Issues hyperlink to see why a Learner cannot be registered into the current activity. Registration Blocks cannot be overridden. Blocks can be the result of schedule conflicts within LMS, such as a Learner is already registered for another activity happening during the time of the currently selected activity. LMS does not check the Learner s Outlook calendar to make these determinations; it only checks activities within LMS. Blocks can also be a result of a Learner not having completed a prerequisite of the currently selected activity. Once the prerequisite is met, a Learner can be registered into the current activity.
