ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Between Valdosta State University and Southern Regional Technical College for Articulation of Select A.A.S. programs to the B.A.S. in Human Capital Performance July 2015

ARTICULATION AGREEMENT Between Valdosta State University And Southern Regional Technical College Article I: Agreement on Principle 1. This joint agreement covers Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) graduates of listed Associate of Applied Science programs who are accepted as candidates for the online program leading to the BAS in Human Capital Performance at Valdosta State University (VSU). This articulation makes provision for the transfer of the following A.A.S. programs: Accounting (AC13), Associate of Science in Nursing (NC73 & AD13), Business Management (MD13), Clinical Laboratory Technology (CLT3), Crime Scene Investigations (Laboratory Forensics)(CS33), Criminal Justice Technology (CJT3), Early Childhood Care and Education (EC13), Paralegal Studies (PS12), Social Work Assistant (SW23), and Veterinary Technology (VT23). 2. Valdosta State University agrees to accept general education core courses for transfer as specified in the articulation agreement between the University System of Georgia and accredited colleges of the Technical College System of Georgia. 3. SRTC agrees to provide documentation for any Area F or Supporting Course that is labeled as not intended for transfer, demonstrating that the course is comprised of degree level content with learning outcomes comparable to a transfer level course. 4. SRTC will ensure that all courses labeled as not intended for transfer shall be taught by competent faculty who are eligible to teach at the collegiate level as determined by SRTC s faculty qualification criteria. 5. The list of acceptable Area F or Supporting courses may be amended through a written agreement drafted by the Deans of the schools at each college. If additional courses are added, SRTC will be responsible for providing the documentation required by item 3. 6. Generally, only courses with a grade of C or better will be accepted for transfer into the degree program at Valdosta State University. A course completed with a grade of less than a C, if counted toward graduation at SRTC, will not transfer to VSU for academic credit and must be repeated if it is a requirement for the VSU Bachelor of Applied Science program. 7. Candidates for the BAS in Human Capital Performance degree must complete a minimum of 120 semester hours of academic work, with a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better calculated from all work attempted at VSU. The academic work must include a minimum of 39 hours of upper division courses with at least 21 upper division hours in the major field. 8. Of the 40 semester hours immediately preceding graduation, at least 30 must be taken in residence at VSU. Any student admitted to VSU for the final year must be in residence for two semesters and complete at least 30 semester hours in residence, including 21 hours of upper division course work in the major. ( In residence refers to courses taken through VSU.) 9. All other VSU and University System of Georgia requirements for graduation must be satisfied.

Article II: Agreement on Program Specifics Valdosta State University and Southern Regional Technical College agree that any student who has successfully completed the minimum requirements of courses outlined in the corresponding articulation tables may transfer the course credits indicated toward the BAS in Human Capital Performance. The bachelor s degree graduation requirements for students who follow this articulated program agreement are listed in the applicable Valdosta State University Catalog as displayed in the VSU Catalog on the university website. Courses approved for transfer are listed in the attached articulation guide tables.
