Class Schedule Day T time Friday 5:00pm 9:30pm Saturday 8:00am 5:00pm Sunday 8:00am 5:00pm The Integrated Core One of the key innovations in our curriculum is the Integrated Core, an intensive 10-month foundation course that covers and links all critical business functions finance, marketing, accounting, human resources, statistics, managerial economics, supply chain management, and information systems. Using lectures, case studies, problem-based learning and group projects, our unique Integrated Core program is team-taught as one comprehensive course, reflecting the multifaceted nature of most business issues. You ll learn each subject first on its own, and then from an integrated perspective to fully develop your ability to make decisions based on a synthesis of crossdisciplinary information. Program Commitment The UBC MBA Part-Time Program begins annually in January and takes 28 months to complete. Classes are delivered through intensive weekend sessions, approximately every three weeks. Study Abroad UBC MBA part-time students have the opportunity to study abroad in spring or summer of the 2nd year of the program. Study abroad program lengths vary from one to six weeks with a wide variety of locations available such as Copenhagen Business School, ESSEC Business School, Paris and Vienna University of Economics and Business. Consulting wasn t on the radar before I started the MBA. My original thought was to continue in banking but the UBC MBA really broadened my outlook and made me realize the breadth and depth of different career paths out there. Admissions Information The UBC Part-Time MBA Program seeks bright, talented, enthusiastic, and creative individuals who are committed to a high level of achievement in their academic, personal, and professional lives. The MBA selection process is rigorous and guided by the following criteria: Academic Achievement Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A four-year Bachelor s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Successful applicants generally have an overall standing of B+ or better in their undergraduate degree. Professional Work Experience Competitive applicants typically have more than two years of full-time, post-baccalaureate work experience when admitted to the program. Maturity, Motivation & Fit Successful applicants must demonstrate managerial and leadership potential, maturity, ambition, drive, and a clear sense of purpose. These characteristics are assessed based on professional experience, extracurricular activities, personal interests, written submissions and mandatory interviews. General Management Admissions Test (GMAT) The GMAT is mandatory for all applicants. You must arrange to have the official test results sent directly to the MBA & ECM Programs Office at UBC. The required minimum GMAT score is 550. However, in order to be competitive, a score of 600 or better (and at least 50th percentile in each section) is recommended. English Language Proficiency Successful applicants must be able to speak, comprehend, and write English fluently. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic, IELTS Academic, or a MELAB is required for all candidates whose degrees are from a university at which English was not the official language of instruction.
