Primary Starter EYFS Starter Our starter courses will lead new users through the use of formative assessment based on the 2014 Primary Curriculum. Statements based on the programme of study are supported through exemplification. The course takes you through making your judgements, collating evidence and observations, as well as showing if a child is working at a shallow or deeper level, or if they are able to show mastery through independence and application across a range of contexts and areas of the curriculum. Formative assessments can then be used in a number of ways; we will take you through using the information to feedback to pupils and parents, support interventions, and inform planning. Whilst formative assessment is the key to effective classroom practice, summative data is still required for middle and senior managers. We will show you how assessment information can be quickly and simply analysed to ensure teachers and managers are able to use the data to impact pupil progress. overview of assessment pupil data formative assessment observations summative assessment reporting administration next steps Full-day (six hours) Our starter courses will lead new users through the use of formative assessment based on the EYFS framework. The trainer was extremely helpful and patient with us. He was ready to stop, discuss and support us where necessary. Thank you! Excellent trainer - could answer all my questions and was very supportive. I enjoyed the course and looking forward to sharing with my school. An excellent piece of software, great training and a very clear trainer. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you. This course was a pleasure as it was delivered by an excellent professional who clearly explained everything they wanted us to understand and be able to use consequently. 4 5

Formative Assessment Data Analysis for Middle Leaders Bringing effective practice together with the practicality of using Target Tracker to support formative assessment. what is good formative assessment recording against the statements defining Working Towards, Achieved and Mastery using observations to support your judgements using gap analysis to inform next steps in teaching and learning using formative to inform summative Half-day (three hours) This course is designed for middle and senior leaders who wish to analyse their formative and summative data against either the EYFS or 2014 Primary Curriculum. Using your own school data you will focus on identifying groups and trends. groups and filters gap analysis - identifying trends progress - groups and subject areas formative to summative - is it consistent? attainment - groups and subject areas assessment conversion - from starting point In-school Half-day (three hours) I hadn t really used the gap analysis feature yet so it was informative to see how this can be used within school at teacher level, subject leader level and SLT level. Really useful in providing information in a clear and concise way. The course demonstrated aspects of using the software and the trainer was happy to clarify any concerns and answer questions. I would definitely recommend this to others. This has been a very beneficial course. I have a much better understanding of the types of reports to use for different audiences and how to analyse them. This afternoon s training has been exceptionally useful in identifying the best and most efficient ways of analysing our school s data. Thank you. 6 7

NEW FOR 2016/17 Making Your End of Key Stage Judgement EYFS New Features This course is designed for Year 2 and Year 6 teachers to learn how to use Target Tracker to support the decision-making and data return processes for statutory end of Key Stage assessments. Half-day (three hours) This course is for existing EYFS Target Tracker users who wish to find out more about recording observations, using the ios app and how these can be shared through the new parent portal, Target Tracker Link. Half-day (three hours) what are the statutory end of Key Stage Teacher Assessment arrangements how to use Target Tracker to inform the judgement against the interim Teacher Assessment Frameworks using observations to support moderation recording end of Key Stage Teacher Assessments & test results data returns observations using the app sharing observations with parents This was an extremely valuable course and I do feel that I have a much better understanding of how to use Target Tracker to support the end of Key Stage judgements. I now feel so much more relieved that thetarget Tracker team are fully aware of the latest information shared, and that there are so many things being implemented by EES for Schools to make this as easy as possible for our school. We are very fortunate to be a part of the Target Tracker schools! Thank you. 8 9

NEW FOR 2016/17 Data for Governors Using Target Tracker to Support Your Ofsted Inspection This course is designed to support your governors in understanding the current assessment practices and how Target Tracker is used in schools. This is followed by sharing some of the questions governors should be asking about assessment data and the reports they might receive in response. what is formative and summative assessment how does Target Tracker record these what should the school have in place to support assessment (policy, progress meetings, subject leaders, SLT, interventions to act on information) understanding reports In-school Half-day (three hours) With nearly two years of assessing against the new curriculum, and new statutory end of Key Stage data in July this year, inspections are now increasingly focusing away from levels. They are instead looking towards ensuring effective formative assessment to inform teaching and learning. This course is in partnership with Ofsted inspectors, senior members of local authority settings as well as current headteachers and governors inspected under the new evaluation schedule. The course has been designed to take senior managers through how Target Tracker can support your school in an inspection. establishing starting points ensuring pupils are on track to be secure in their appropriate year group identifying vulnerable children and groups showing progress ensuring consistent, well-moderated formative assessment is being used effectively comparing your data with Target Tracker national data In-school Full-day (six hours) Refreshing, reassuring to have facilitators with leadership and OFSTED experience, genuinely felt that they were here to train and support us. The training was excellent, informative and very supportive. The two leaders were extremely helpful and made us feel very comfortable about asking questions. 10 11

NEW FOR 2016/17 Target Tracker for the Technologically Timid Teacher Bespoke Training and Consultancy This course is designed for staff who are a bit wary of technology or Target Tracker and would like someone to take them through the basics, supporting them with plenty of practice and repetition. The afternoon will be a practical session focused on entering assessments against their own pupils. Full-day (six hours) Schools can also book in-school training and consultancy - what is covered during the session is down to you. One of our trainers will come to your school and work alongside you to deliver the content you want, in a way that suits your school or cluster. In-school Full-day (six hours) or half-day (three hours) pupil information formative assessment groups summative assessment support materials It was a really useful day for staff and year group teams to work with the trainers to review data input, discuss systems and ask questions relating to charts, assessment and tracking. The style of the day was relaxed, purposeful and informative. It was also an opportunity to reflect on next steps. Great course - very conversational and tailored to our existing knowledge and needs. This was an excellent session which met the needs of the group. The bespoke nature of the work was very well co-ordinated and presentation was of a high quality. 12 13

NEW FOR 2016/17 Other Services School Effectiveness+ School Effectiveness+ (SE+) is a complete system for improving effectiveness across an individual school or group of schools. Based on The 25 Characteristics of High Performing Schools, SE+ was developed during 18 months of research with leading academics and outstanding head teachers. SE+ allows schools to evaluate themselves, identify their strengths and weaknesses, benchmark against other schools, and have a clear view of their improvement priorities. From day one, a highly-trained SE+ adviser can work with the school to maximise the impact of the SE+ diagnosis, analysis and development processes, involving the senior leadership team and governing body where appropriate. After self-evaluating and surveying your school community, your School Maturity Profile can be used to undertake development programmes with other schools, including training events, schoolto-school support and school-led improvement projects, all based on detailed research of what works. Fabulous. I can t wait to get started. I feel it is going to be an invaluable tool to support school improvement. The training was organised in an efficient and user-friendly way. The portal is an exciting development and we feel that it will make school improvement planning and selfevaluation a more intuitive process. I m really excited about using SE+ as it appears to have everything I need to make accurate assessments about my school and plan for action. In the current climate it is important to me that I work collaboratively with others and benchmark the school against a national picture. For more information about how SE+ can help your school, please contact us. 14 15
