Siksha Abhiyan Scholarship Test 2017-18 Date of Examination : 25th Feb. 2018 (Sunday)

Siksha Abhiyan I extend my heartfelt thanks to parents and students in helping me to visualizing this initiative ' Siksha Abhiyan' form Modi Foundation is a Scholarship Program for all category of students studying in any school of India. They can avail 'Siksha Abhiyan' to fulfill their dream education and also support their Parents. I hope my aim to contribute to Education for Children is achieved by 'Siksha Abhiyan' to transform Modi Foundation and the people who come in touch with us, as I strongly believe in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) The core philosophy of Modi Foundation is that 'No youth should be deprived and left behind from education'. All our decisions, processes and investments are geared to mainstream the disadvantaged youth in the nation's economy. Modi Foundation work towards empowering people by helping them develop their basic skill of education and basic learning to the children and health care to all. The Society's activities are rooted in the knowledge that businesses have a duty to enable all living beings to get a fair share of the resources. They are powerful constituents of society and the most successful, respected, and desirable businesses exist to do much more than make money but, to solve social problems. The Indian culture of giving back flows from the tradition of nation and community building sowed more than a centuries back by our rich heritage. Aims of Modi Foundation The aim is to create a talent pool which can self-navigate its way through a dynamic and competitive economy. Strengths Amplifying out comes through synergy. Our members include trainers, teachers, assessors, tutors, support staff, mentors, coaches and managers, working across the rich diversity of settings in education and training, including colleges, independent training providers, adult and community learning employer/providers, the voluntary sector.

The Need of the Hour In India, 99% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in 1 primary education 19% GER in higher 2 education 13 million enter workforce 3 each year 93% of current workforce is employed in 4 informal sector 2% Indian workers are formally 5 skilled Source: 1 - HRD Ministry, Indian Government 2014 2 - HRD Ministry, Indian Government 2013 3 - National Skill Development Corporation 4 - "Skill Development Initiatives in India", ISAS Special Report-National University of Singapore, July 2013, p.6 5 - IDFC (as published in 2011) A Unique Scholarship Exam that provides every child Opportunity to get Education ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATION (AGES 8-18) Indian education system suffers from so many drawbacks. But in spite of the limitations imposed by slow and limited growth of education, education has become one of the influential instruments of social change in India. It has led to the mobilization of people's aspirations for development and change. Thus, in modern complex national societies education can neither be regarded as a controlling force conserving cultural heritage, nor could it be viewed as an agent of social change. It can only be regarded as a cooperative force in bringing about social changes decided by the forces possessing more pervasive power in society. Helping students to have their voice heard and access opportunities to shape their own futures by providing them with Education. According to UNICEF, early childhood development has a profound impact on a child's future. When given the right environment, children can develop the skills needed to embrace opportunity and bounce back from the adversity. Modi Foundation agrees and focuses on providing a positive environment of adequate finance for underprivileged and eligible students. Our symbol of 'Free Bird' is a perfect example for freeing the students from the hurdles and providing them the right to basic education. We want students to learn to take what they have and grow it into something beautiful and sustainable, just like growing into a free bird and sore new heights and achieve to new opportunities! If they fill up and opt for our scholarship program 'Siksha Abhiyan' students will at least learn: To horn their skills in basic subjects, prepare for other competitive exams, value money and opportunities given by the parents and 'Siksha Abhiyan', spending responsibly and watchfully for education, being generous with our money (that we save and grow) helps us connect to the people around us and let them know we care.

Empowerment: Students are given the tools to build their own futures! Financial support makes it easier for students to make, save and apply the saved funds consciously for their own education and future. In the future they will have the ability to keep themselves financially secure and not only lift themselves, but those around them to make a big economic difference! Personal Finance Skills: When it comes to the financial literacy, it's important to start early and begin in the classroom and at home. Like reading and math. Financial literacy is a life skill students will encounter every day. Even if parents are doing their best to provide for their children's education. Yet, there is always an extra need to support the society and this is accomplished by 'Siksha Abhiyan' What is a Scholarship? The endowment awards only Scholarships. However, the selected scholars may also qualify for a gift award. The amount to be awarded to each scholar by way of gift scholarship is determined on the basis of norms laid down for the purpose, and does not cover the full cost of studies. Scholarship means Fee Concession, Fee Discount and Fee Waiver. If at any point of time government decides to charge GST on the scholarship / concession amount / fee waiver and in prize money, then the GST shall be borne by the students. Scholarships range from 5% to 100% fee waiver, based on the eligibility & brilliance of the student. The scholarships are offered only on Tuition fee. The student is required to submit the proof for the same to avail respective scholarship(s). Scholarships are granted for higher studies in all disciplines and subjects. These scholarships shall be varying according to different conditions and the marks obtained. Generally the marks obtained in Mathematics, Science and Biology in class X/XII are the deciding factor as to what scholarship a student will be awarded.
