St. Stephen s Church of England Primary School Winchester Road Twickenham Middlesex TW1 1LF (t) 020 8892 3462 (e) info@st-stephens.richmond.sch.uk Newsletter No: 24 23 rd March 2018 HOUSE POINTS: 1 st RED 2 nd GREEN 3 rd YELLOW 4 th BLUE BAGS OF GREENERY FOR ST. STEPHEN S This time last year, parents were asked to vote for our school as part of the Tesco s Bags of Help programme. The scheme uses the money raised from the 5p carrier bag charge in England to donate to good causes and thanks to people power, we were successful in securing the 5000 funding. The idea was to create areas for each class to do their own seeding, planting and pruning. Not only are these valuable skills for each child to learn but the resulting blooms should help to create eye-catching, natural areas around the playground. Huge thanks to Mr Plant who has lived up to his name by assembling and constructing 14 separate wooden planters from scratch. Blooming marvellous! IMPORTANT REMINDERS COMING UP: Mon Mar 26 th TV & Film Workshop Year 4 Easter Service Rehearsal at St. Stephen s Church Tue Mar 27 th Anti-Bullying Workshop Year 5 Police Visit Safer Internet Talk Year 4 Easter Service Rehearsal at St. Stephen s Church Wed Mar 28 th 10am Easter Service at St. Stephen s Church ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND Thur Mar 29 th End of Term School Closes at 2.15pm

MERIT ASSEMBLY FOR FRIDAY 16 th March Due to our NSPCC talk last week, there were no Merit assemblies. Normal service will resume next week! SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALE Year 6 will be running a Second Hand Uniform Sale next week in the School Playground on Thursday, after school. Please remember that this will take place at 2.15pm as the school closes early for the last day of term. Please also make sure that you have had a thorough look through the lost property bins at the Reception Entrance as any items still in the bins by Wednesday next week (Wednesday 28th March) will be sold. SPARE TRACKSUIT BOTTOMS Please could anyone that has any spare second-hand tracksuit bottoms (age 5-8) let us know, so that we can replenish the spare clothes cupboard. Sometimes we need spare items for the smaller children and we are currently running low EXTREME READERS To celebrate World Book Day, we ran a competition to find St. Stephen s most extreme readers. We weren t disappointed a gallery of extreme reading is on display in the School Reception Area. However, there were some more extreme than others. And the worthy winners are: Molly - 6K, Ella - 4DG, Polly - Turtle, Max - 3R, Ben - Seahorse
