ADMISSION IN SEPTEMBER 2018 I the Sixth Form, educatio is idividually tailored to each studet s eeds. Whitgift offers studets the opportuity to study either A Levels or the Iteratioal Baccalaureate Diploma ad, curretly, for those cadidates who are lookig to pursue a top tier sportig career, the BTEC Level 3 Exteded Diploma i Busiess or Sport ad Exercise Sciece is also available. Applicatios are ivited from parets of boys for Sixth Form etry i September 2018. Applicatio Forms should be completed ad submitted to the Admissios Office before Friday 29 December 2017 for day ad boardig applicats. Alteratively, applicatios may be completed olie via our website, www.whitgift.co.uk. Details of the curriculum ad facilities are also available o our website. Etry is competitive, but o paret who would like their so to come to Whitgift should be deterred from applyig for fiacial reasos, as it is the policy of the Whitgift Foudatio to make the educatio offered as widely available as possible. Scholarships, boardig awards ad bursaries are offered each year. SCHOLARSHIPS A large umber of awards carryig substatial remissio, up to 50% of fees, will be offered to day cadidates of outstadig merit, regardless of paretal meas. This will be pricipally to recogise academic potetial, but scholarships are also awarded to boys showig exceptioal talet as all-rouders, or i specific areas such as Art, Desig Techology ad Egieerig, Drama, Music ad Sport. All cadidates are automatically cosidered for a Academic Scholarship whe they sit the Etrace Examiatio papers. If applyig for a Art, Desig Techology ad Egieerig, Drama, Music or Sport Scholarship, please complete the appropriate Scholarship Applicatio Form(s) ad submit with your Whitgift Applicatio Form, either olie or by paper copy. Scholarship Applicatio Forms are available o our website or via the Admissios Office. Scholarships may be combied with bursaries to meet up to the etire fee. BURSARIES Parets of prospective day pupils, whose family icome is less tha approximately 80,000 a year (exact figures are available direct from the Whitgift Foudatio), may apply for a bursary (a icomerelated fee reductio). There is a geerous, but limited, aual budget for bursaries for those who qualify i terms of their icome ad residecy. Ufortuately, ot all families who are eligible for a bursary will be offered oe as bursaries are awarded o the basis of performace i the Etrace Examiatio, assessmet(s) ad iterview. The Whitgift Foudatio calculates the bursary award, which may cover almost the etire fee. A proportio of parets may be offered a bursary smaller tha the Foudatio s assessmet, to eable a larger umber of families to beefit from the scheme. A bursary applicatio must be made i advace of the Etrace Examiatio ad submitted to the Whitgift Foudatio by Friday 29 December 2017. BOARDING The state-of-the-art boardig facilities offer bespoke accommodatio for 112 studets, aged 13 to 18. Applicatios for full ad weekly boardig places are welcome for Sixth Form etry. Flexi-boardig is also available for day studets. Please see our website for more details. Although boardig applicats are ot eligible to apply for a bursary, they may be cosidered for a Boardig Award by submittig the relevat Scholarship Applicatio Form(s). These examiatios will be i two of the subjects chose for study at A Level or Higher Level Iteratioal Baccalaureate. I additio, those boys whose ative laguage is ot Eglish will also sit a proficiecy examiatio i Eglish. For A Level ad Iteratioal Baccalaureate studets the usual etry requiremet i recet years has bee seve GCSE passes at A*/A grade, with a A*/A grade achieved i the subjects cadidates wish to pursue i the Sixth Form. I order to study a Sciece subject, a A*/A grade i Mathematics is required. BTEC Sport ad Exercise Sciece studets have, i recet years, bee required to achieve five GCSE passes at A*-C grade, icludig Mathematics ad Eglish. Similarly, BTEC Busiess studets have bee required to achieve five GCSE passes at A*-C grade but with a A*-B grade i Mathematics ad Eglish.
