Please have your student check if they have misplaced anything. All lost and found items will be available during Parent Teacher Conferences. Any remaining items will be donated at the end of the week. State Championship Football Game on Friday, November 17 Congratulations to the Kimberly High School Football team on their great success this year! The Championship game will be held in Madison on Friday, November 17 at 4:00 PM. We will follow our normal class schedule that day, which includes an early release at 11:20. JRG will not be providing a fan bus, however, interested students were provided a permission slip on Monday during their 3/4 block. Permission forms are available in the Main Office. We are also providing it on page 4 of this Gator Bytes. Please complete the attached permission form on page 4 and return it to your child s TLC teacher or the main office by Thursday morning if your student will be attending the game. Time missed will be considered a Vacation Day as game attendance is optional and not a JRG sponsored event. This form must be on file by Thursday for all students attending the game. Please contact the office with any questions at 788-7905. JRG Student Council Food Drive Collects More Than 1800 Pounds of Food This year the J.R.G. Student Council partnered up with the High School DECA club to hold a food drive for St. Joseph s local food pantry. TLCs competed against each other to see who could collect the most food throughout the week of October 16th through the 26th. Each grade level was competing for the Spirit Stick! With great success, we collected a total of 1863 pounds of food! In the end, Mr. Demmin s TLC took 1st place for the 7th grade with a total of 264 food items to help people in need. Ms. Wild s TLC took 1st place for the 8th grade with a total of 132 food items. Out of the entire school 7th grade was awarded the spirit stick for bringing in the most perishable items. That food was then donated to St. Joseph s Food pantry to help those in need. In the end, we collected more than we did last year. Great Job! Thank you for your contributions!

Gator Bytes J.R. Gerritts Middle School Page 2 Health Class Reminder for Human Growth and Development Attached with this week s Gator Bytes you will find the Human Growth and Development objectives for your middle school student. Health class at JRG is a quarter long experience, therefore your child will participate in the curriculum during the nine weeks he or she has the class. For parents interested in exempting their child from the Human Growth and Development unit, please contact your child s health teacher. Megan Berger, Mike Chalupny and Jason Jochimsen 8th Grade-We Need Your Baby Pictures Do you want to be featured in our very own JRG yearbook? We want your baby pictures from ages 2-3! This year, we will be featuring a section in the yearbook in which students are guessing which baby picture belongs to which student. This is just for 8th grade. Email your pictures to 22kzuleger@kimberly.k12.wi.us if you want to be included in this extra fun section of the book. January 1st is the last day we will be accepting the pictures. Thank you! -JRG Yearbook Staff Weather Cancellations and Delays Winter is right around the corner. If weather conditions dictate that there will be no school or a delayed start, a decision to keep the schools closed is usually made by 6:30 a.m. Parents with students in school receive a direct call, text and/or email from our auto-call system since that is the fastest way to communicate with thousands of parents at one time. As a reminder: If you have a new phone number or email address, please update your information in the Infinite Campus parent portal or contact your school s secretary to update the portal. Announcements are also sent to local TV and radio stations. Please tune to local stations such as these rather than call the school directly: WAPL-105.7FM, WHBY-1150AM, WKFX-104.9FM, WEMI-91.9 FM, WGEE-1360 AM, and WOZZ-93.5FM; and WBAY-TV2, WFRV-TV5, WGBA-TV26, and WLUK-FOX11. If other school events, such as concerts or sporting events are also cancelled because of weather, they are typically communicated through these stations as well. The District s website and Facebook page are not our primary way to communicate school closures, so we ask parents to listen to the auto-call messages or tune in to the radio and TV stations listed for the timeliest updates. Emergency Medications Please be aware that emergency medications that are provided for use during the school day will not be accessible before or after school hours. Parents and students must plan ahead to have emergency medication available during school activities such as clubs and sports. If an emergency arises and a student does not have their emergency medication available, 911 will be called. The Kimberly Area School District has once again partnered with Bridging Brighter Smiles! All students 4K - 12th grade are welcome to participate. Visits are held during school hours, throughout the year. To enroll, simply go to enrollment.bbsmiles.org to complete an enrollment form right online!
