Keynote Speakers Amber A. Hewitt, PhD Dr. Hewitt is an American Association for the Adancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the NIH, National Institute of Mental Health. She recently completed an APA Congressional Fellowship in the Office of U.S. Senator Cory A. Booker where she staffed the Senator on health care reform and codrafted health policy legislation. Dr. Hewitt began her career as an Assistant Professor in the counseling psychology doctoral program at the Uniersity of Akron. Tania Israel, PhD Dr. Israel is a Professor and Department Chair of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the Uniersity of California, Santa Barbara. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a Past- President of the Society of Counseling Psychology. Dr. Israel is the Director of Project RISE, a research team at UCSB that deelops and studies interentions to support the psychological health of LGBTQ indiiduals and communities.
