Any General Education requirements not completed at Columbus State will need to be completed at Ohio State. Admission to the Social Work major: Students must apply to and be accepted to OSU as an undergraduate student. In addition, students are required to submit a separate application for admission to the Social Work major (http://csw.osu.edu/degrees-programs/undergraduate/how-to-apply/) while completing the required pre-major courses and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 and a minimum 2.0 on the required pre-major courses (subject to change) and demonstrate personal and professional readiness to work with clients, consistent with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics. Licensing Requirements: States legally regulate the practice of social work to protect the public and control the use of the social work title and practice. Each state defines by law what is required for each level of social work license. Graduates of Ohio State s social work program are well prepared for the bachelor s level licensure exam. Students must earn a grade of C or higher on all pre-major course work and SAHS courses used as BSSW program electives.
