WHAT CAN I DO WITH A D E PAUL MAJOR IN HISTORY OF ART AND ARCHITECTURE? A degree in the History of Art and Architecture provides students with a broad understanding of the field and also allows students to minor in History of Art and Architecture, Museum Studies, or a Cities minor. This department equips students with the skills needed to think critically about the influence and impact art and architecture on individuals and societies. Students with this major develop a strong skill set in critical and creative thinking, research and analytical skills, interpreting and understanding historical contexts of artwork. In addition, students garner knowledge of artistic materials and techniques, methods of analysis and interpretation, and written, oral, and visual communication skills. The major also prepares students to strengthen their visual literacy skills and navigate an ever evolving digital world. With that said, keep in mind that History of Art and Architecture majors have also found success in a much wider variety of professions.
