OUR CURRICULUM OFFERS We offer a range of courses to suit all ages and study interests. This includes: WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL I am very pleased that your child is considering studying with us. 16-18 19+ LDD ENG APP COURSES FOR 16-18 YEAR OLDS VOCATIONAL & BTEC We offer vocational courses in a range of subjects including business, finance and computing, catering and hospitality, science, health care, graphic design and creative arts. Many of these vocational students progress to university and internships. COURSES FOR ADULTS We offer a wide range of courses across many subject areas specifically for adults ranging from general courses through to specialist and higher education courses. COURSES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES OR OTHER DISABILITIES Our courses help prepare students for independent living or supported employment. These give students confidence as well as practical skills. ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES We are one of the largest providers of English language courses in the country for both young people and adults. We have the experience and size necessary to tailor our courses to meet student needs and aspirations. APPRENTICESHIPS We offer a number of apprenticeships for young people and adults providing the opportunity to study whilst also gaining practical skills on the job. We are a college recognised by Ofsted as Good, we pride ourselves on our harmonious, well-resourced, safe and welcoming learning environment. We will help your child achieve their goals and ambitions with 95% of students staying in study to ensure they achieve, including Maths and English qualifications. We ensure that all students are supported well including those with complex needs and other specific needs such as hearing and/or visual impairment. Learning support staff know the learners they work with well and adapt their approach to match individuals needs highly effectively. All curriculum areas use their strong employer links to develop a curriculum that enables our students to develop good technical and work skills. For example catering students will join the Rouge learning company, enabling them to work on real projects across London, building their employability skills. This is reflected in other areas giving our students a hands on, real life experience of their chosen career pathway, business students will have the opportunity to participate in the Careers academy, being mentored by top companies across London such as JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley. Every year we send 300+ of students to university for a wide range of Degree courses. These include top universities such as Kings College London, UCL and Queen Mary University. You will have noticed that we have changed our name to New City College: Redbridge. This is because we are now part of a much larger organisation including Tower Hamlets and Hackney College. This will give our students even more opportunities to study a wider range of subjects and participate in cross campus learning activities to further enhance their learning experience. SUCCESS STORIES ABBIE Achieved Triple Distinction* in her Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science and is now studying a degree apprenticeship to become a neurophysiology science practitioner. MAJEED Achieved Triple Distinction* in his Level 3 BTEC Health and Social Care Diploma and is now studying Adult Nursing at King s College London University. Abbie will complete her degree at Manchester University.

OUR FACULTIES Our Campus is made up of a number of faculties that provide and plan our courses. SCIENCE & MATHS HUMANITIES A-LEVELS APPRENTICESHIPS Apprenticeships gives students the opportunity to study whilst gaining practical skills on the job. We can help arrange employment opportunities with leading London employers across a wide range of industry sectors. APPLIED SCIENCE Science degrees are the most employable ones in the UK. With our great facilities and impressive success rates, there is nowhere better to study science. 97% of our students pass their applied science qualifications and 90% of those who applied to go to university last year, were successful, with many going onto leading Russell Group universities. BUSINESS & ACCOUNTING With 100% pass rates for BTEC Business courses, 95.5% of our students who applied to university were accepted. Many of our students progress to top universities including Nottingham, City, Queen Mary, Surrey and Kingston to study competitive degrees in finance, accounting, business economics, law, marketing and business management. COMPASS Compass is our Level 1 course for young people. In a nutshell, this course is designed to inspire students and equip them with the skills they need to progress to a higher course or employment. COMPUTING & IT Our research and commitment to understanding what employers are looking for will ensure students get the best support, skills and knowledge to succeed in this growing industry. Our computing students progress to universities such as Queen Mary and City University to study fascinating degrees in computer science and technology. ESOL If English isn t your child s main language, our ESOL courses are designed to help your child improve their English language skills in work and life in the United Kingdom and progress quickly onto GCSE and A-level courses. EARLY YEARS We will ensure that our early years courses will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to successfully build a career working with children and/or young people. You will get lots of hands-on training as part of your course. GRAPHIC DESIGN Our very own learning company Blue Orange strives to replicate an environment that is as close to the UK s creative industries, giving every student the opportunity to develop their skills and form invaluable relationships with clients. The Blue Orange ethos is to engage with client-led briefs and projects that are relevant within the industry. HAIRDRESSING & BEAUTY THERAPY Students will gain work in our commercial salon Urban Oasis, to provide them with experience in real working environments by working on paying customers. They will be learning in a fantastic environment, using state-of-the-art equipment, with teachers who are industry professionals. HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE The early years and care sectors are growing sectors with employment opportunities. We provide industry recognised courses that also include vital work experience placements for our students. Many of our students successfully progress into employment or university. HOSPITALITY AND CATERING Our learning company Rouge Academy offers our trainees a completely original and unique learning environment and experience. This creates a professional and inclusive environment which emphasises employer engagement and creates learning programmes that are dynamic and highly relevant to the business needs for now and in the future. PERFORMING ARTS, MUSIC & MEDIA Our innovative Box Productions learning company provides an exciting opportunity where students will be trained to industry standard and be part of an exciting company. Our teachers have all worked in the creative industries and are specialists in their chosen field. SPORTS STUDIES We are proud to be working in partnership with West Ham Learning Academy, the University of East London Sports Dock and Redbridge Sports Centre. We offer fantastic football and basketball programmes and students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities where they will train and learn with expert lecturers and professional trainers and coaches.

SUCCESS STORIES Design Student Creates New Identity for One of London s Largest Colleges, New City College. Talented graphic design student, Ashley Butcher has successfully designed the new brand logo for New City College. His design concept was chosen to be the corporate identity of New City College, the new name for the merged colleges of Tower Hamlets, Hackney Community College and Redbridge College. The three-college group was formed by the merger on 1st April 2017 and is now the second largest further education College in London and the eighth largest in the country. Advertisements designed by talented creative arts students are appearing in the new Elizabeth Line train carriages. The students, Hayden Shields, Jesse Thraves and Egle Lenceviciute, all studying graphic design courses, were thrilled when their designs were chosen to appear on the new train carriages by TFL following their participation in a design project to celebrate the new line. OUR STUDENT SUPPORT We have a strong network of Advice & Support staff available at the college to help students with their individual needs: STUDENT SERVICES TEAM Our student services team are on hand to offer valuable information, advice and guidance to students, whilst supporting in all aspects of college life including financial support whilst studying. COUNSELLING Our confidential counselling service is there to help students through difficult times such as relationship difficulties, family issues, depression and any other personal circumstances that are emotionally difficult and may interfere with their learning. PEER MENTORING New students are allocated a friend from their course among our continuing learners to help them settle in and find their way. CAREERS ADVICE Our careers advice team offer guidance about the education you will need to enter a particular career, employment options relating to your skills and interest and help creating and presenting your CV. LEARNING SUPPORT Students with learning, social or communication difficulties as well as those with practical and/or sensory disabilities, medical needs (or any other barriers to learning) can access support ranging from: General and specialist assessment or screening One-to-one study mentoring and special examination arrangements In-class support Specialist assistance for people with hearing and/or visual impairment E-BRIDGE E-Bridge is our interactive online learning resource where students can access course materials, keep in touch with tutors, submit assignments and track their progress. PARMVEER Achieved Triple Distinction* in his Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business and is progressing to Coventry University to study Accounting and Finance with a year abroad.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS The college prides itself in giving students skills that go way beyond their qualifications. The student ambassador programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain a range of real skills and contribute to the college. From open evenings to participating in college focus groups, the ambassador programme is varied and unique. All students have the opportunity to apply as a Student Ambassador at the college. Students are also encouraged to make the most of college life, by getting involved in: Volunteering opportunities At our college there are many opportunities for students to volunteer! Volunteering is a great way for students to: Learn new skills Meet new friends Boost their employment prospects Student Voice Advisory Committee This allows students a safe platform to make a difference at college by sharing ideas and offering the opportunity for them to voice their opinions, suggestions and views. Enrichment Programme Our Enrichment programme is an essential part of college life that students have the opportunity to get involved in. It was a good choice that I made by choosing to come to Redbridge college as my course is allowing me to progress to university. OPEN DAYS & ADVICE NIGHTS We have two open days during the year at our Redbridge campus: Wednesday 15 th November 2018 5-7pm CAREER READY Redbridge College s Career Ready programme is exclusively available to motivated and committed Level 3 Business Studies students aged between 16-19. The programme runs over two years alongside their main course and includes a summer internship, professional and peer mentors, master classes, trips to prestigious organisations, networking meetings and more. Career Ready is designed to transform young people s lives by inspiring them to reach their potential. Saturday 3 rd March 2018 11am - 3pm We also hold two parents evenings a year at our Redbridge campus where you can come in and speak with our teachers about your child s progress: Wednesday 25th April 5-7pm Wednesday 20th June 5-7pm As part of the programme, students have had the opportunity to be mentored by top firms such as JP Morgan, The Bank of England and Morgan Stanley. Our entrepreneurially gifted business students were recent finalists in the Big Ideas Challenge 2017 hosted by HRH Duke of York, Prince Andrew. The team were invited to St James Palace in Whitehall to present their business idea to a specially invited audience of friends, teachers and business people as well as the Duke of York.
