Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine Office of the Dean Examination Controll Division Notice for PG Entrance Examination of IOM and affiliated colleges For both national and foreign applicants The admission notice of Institute of Medicine for all PG and its affiliated campuses and colleges for this academic year (2070/071 as per Nepalese Calendar) is being published. Qualified national and foreign candidates must deposit NRS. 4500/- for MD/MS/ MDS and NRS. 4000/- for all other Postgraduate Programs. The amount must be deposited in Himalayan Bank Ltd. with the account name Entrance Exam TU IOM Dean Office MG and current account number: 002-0055557-0057. The Nepalese candidates should insert the Transaction Number, Date and Branch Name in the bottom of the page of Instruction to applicant for filling up the online application form in order to open the Application Form and then upload the readable copy of the bank voucher to complete the submission. The foreign candidate must fill in the Foreign Category admission form without the bank voucher. They must submit the above mentioned Bank Voucher at the time of collection of Admission Card. The duration for online submission is from 9:00 am, 30 th May, 2014 to 5:00 pm 13 th June, 2014. The Online Form is available in IOM s website www.iom.edu.np under Exam Section PG Entrance Online Form. Forms submitted after 5:00 pm 13 th June 2014 will not be accepted. Any admission forms in hard copies will not be accepted. Entrance Examinations for MPH/MPHN/MPHE and MSc. Clinical Biochemistry will be held on Friday 20 th June, 2014. Entrance Examinations for MD/MS/MDS and all other PG will be held on Saturday 21 st June, 2014. Nepalese and Foreign candidates will sit for the same entrance exams. All Entrance Examination for MD/MS/MDS will be of 4 hours duration and will be multiple choice questions. 1

General Information for PG Programs Selection for admission All Nepalese/Foreign students will have to appear in common entrance examination. Merit list for Nepalese/Foreign students will be published separately. Must secure a minimum of 50% marks in entrance examinations. Admission will be on merit basis in open house counseling wherever applicable. Academic/Administrative rules and regulations for PG Students / Residents The P.G. students will go through a full time residential training. Must obey the rules and regulations of IOM A total of two week leave is permitted in one year in hospital based clinical/para-clinical programs (MD/MS, MDS and MD Ayurveda) In other P.G. programs vacation/leave will be as per T.U. regulation. All P.G. programs are strictly non-practicing; therefore PG Students/Residents are prohibited to undertake private practice of any kind or any other private assignment. All clinical programs (MD/MS, MDS and MD Ayurveda) will have three months community-based teaching - learning as per Nepal Medical Council s requirement. As per Ministry of Health & Population directives, all clinical program candidates will have to serve for one year at a place assigned by the government after completion of the course.
