Overview: Students are going to become familiar with and will understand how to use the information contained in their transcript for high school and post secondary planning purposes. Essential Question: How do I know if I m on track for graduation based on the information contained in my transcript?
Overview: Students will learn how to read their transcripts so they are better prepared to monitor their completion of graduation requirements. Learning Scale: 1= I have no idea how to read my transcript. 2= I can read my transcript, but I really don t know much about it. 3= I can read my transcript and understand most of it, but I still have questions. 4= I can read and I fully understand all of the information on my transcript. 5= I can teach anybody how to read their transcript.
Overview: We are going to go over a transcript step by step so all students understand the information and are able to identify (based on the information found on their transcript) what they need to do to meet all of the graduation requirements by the end of their senior year. Understanding Your Transcript What s on your transcript is what graduates you! Let s look at the first page of your transcript.
The first page of the transcript includes your personal information, shot records, completed course information and the courses you are currently taking. Please note that page 2 will be use for spill ov informatio from this page.
Page 3 includes your personal information, the cumulative summary box, class rank, FCAT assessment verification, online course verification, community service, industry certification verification. The bottom portion includes the definition of terms and th grading scal
Page 4 outlines the course flags that you will see next to the course names on page one of your transcript.
Page 5 includes FCAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT and EOC test results.
Let s look at the most important parts of the transcript more closely.
Industry Certifications are required for graduation, but th are used as a way identify students who are eligible f a scholars designa diploma. Must have 24 of the required credits Must have 2.0 GPA or better Must have passed the FCAT reading assessment Must have completed an online course. And
You must have passed the Algebra I EOC with a level 3 or pass the PERT with a math score of 97. Note: AL (achievement level) must be 3 or more, not the RS (raw score).

Dr. Elwood Watson wrote the following: While it is true that there are some people who attend college, and things do not work out, they are still more likely to fare better if they pursue some form of vocational or technical training beyond high school. The fact is that for the vast majority of people, at least for the present moment and more than likely many, many years from now, having a college degree, or some level or type of postsecondary education is more advantageous than not.
