CALL FOR NOMINATIONS ADVENTUROUS JOURNEY SUPERVISOR AND ASSESSOR TRAINING (SAT) WORKSHOP 27 th 28 th February 2016 NEXUS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA Dear Colleagues, The Duke of Edinburgh s International Award Foundation Asia Pacific Regional office is pleased to deliver Adventurous Journey Supervisor and Assessor Training (SAT) for Award Leaders in Malaysia. It is a Basic Licence requirement for your IAC to have a minimum of two Award Leaders trained. The Adventurous Journey Supervisor and Assessor Training workshop is a Level 1 course. This workshop is designed to equip Adventurous Journey Supervisors and Assessors with the knowledge and skills to deliver the Adventurous Journey section of the Award successfully, from the training of participants to conducting and assessing a qualifying venture. 1. DATES Saturday 27 th Sunday 28 th February 2016 The 2 day SAT workshop will commence on Saturday 27 th February at 09:00 and conclude on Sunday 28 th February at 17:00. 2. 3. TRAINERS The trainers for this workshop will be Joel Grant, Independent Award Centre (IAC) Manager, Asia Pacific, supported by members of the Regional Training Panel. 4. ABOUT THE TRAINING The objectives of the SAT workshop are to: provide knowledge and skills to oversee the planning and implementation of the Adventurous Journey component of the Award training and leading participants prepare individuals to become Assessors of the Adventurous Journey component of the Award provide an understanding, know-how and inspiration to deliver The Duke of Edinburgh s International Award 5. COST AND CANCELLATION POLICY Delegate registration fee is US$300. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea during the workshop will be provided. Delegates will be responsible for their own international travel and transfer costs. All accommodation and other meals (breakfast and dinner) will also be the responsibility of the delegates. The Asia Pacific Regional office will not be responsible for any personal costs. The payment of the US$300 registration fee must be settled 21 days before attending the course. If you cancel your booking, we will refund the full fee with 21 days notice or more, otherwise fees are nonrefundable. Substitutes can be arranged at no extra charge but changes to attendants must be confirmed with the APR office. Your registration will not be confirmed until payment has been received. The APR Regional office will provide confirmation via email. 6. ACCOMMODATION Delegates are responsible for organising their own accommodation. 7. DELEGATE REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION It is a requirement that attendees are from organisations that have been formally licensed as Independent Award Centres (IACs) or an International Trained Activity Providers (ITAP) by The Duke of Edinburgh s International Award Foundation. It is expected that IACs send Award Leaders who will be most involved in the Adventurous Journey component of the Award. The SAT workshop is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
