Rationale for Online Assessment To assess the application of FP (Foundation Program- Generic courses) knowledge in multiple areas so that students can relate to their learning s To assess the understandings of Industry Context / Business Application / Real Life case scenario so that students can be better-prepared when they join Industry To save the operational cost associated with Online Assessment Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS with Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and provides Online Assessment Features To standardize FP assessment process across partner colleges 3
Brief Overview of the Initiative 1. Online Mode of Assessment with the help of freeware software like Moodle 2. Installation of Moodle software and Testing by partner college 3. Test, Proctoring and Assessment administration by partner college 4. Infosys to share assessment framework and report formats for each stake holder 5. Standardization of assessment process with Industry graded questions 6. Co-creation of assessment database and question bank review by Infosys 7. Generation of various test reports for each stake holder by partner college 8. Type of Test : Practice (or Mock) Test - Duration 30 min having 20 questions, un-proctored environment, flexible timings for self development. Practice Test is scheduled one week prior to the final assessment date. Overall Online Assessment Duration 2 hrs having 100 questions, proctored environment. 4

Using Moodle System Requirements 256 MB RAM (minimum), 512 MB RAM (recommended) 160 MB free Fixed Disk (minimum) Windows Install Package includes Apache, MySQL and PHP Download Moodle for Windows 9
Start up for Installation Download latest version of Moodle from Moodle for Windows and unpack.zip at suitable subfolder Run Start moodle for the first time to initiate set up process. 10
Run Start moodle for the first time to initiate set up process. Successful execution of the same will start Apache and MySQL 11
Now open IE window and type http://localhost in browser window. This should show an installation page. 12

On completion of build, Fort Page set up screen will appear. Key in values for default front page set up 20

In case if you see this page, then Installation is failed. Solution - Repeat the process 23
Now your test server is ready for usage Login as an admin Use the left side Menu to Create courses, and quiz banks to schedule test. 24
