SPOTLIGHT RUAIRIDH SAUNDERS // BA POPULAR MUSIC STUDENT LAURA BROWN Laura graduated from Edinburgh College with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance before successfully building her own music tuition business, LA Vocal Tuition, based in Armadale, West Lothian. Laura, who graduated in 2016, credits the support and enthusiasm of her tutors for giving her the knowledge and drive to develop her dream business and explore her passion for music teaching, as well as strengthening her entrepreneurial skills. From the comfort of her own homebased music studio cabin, Laura is able to teach students on a 1-2-1 basis using skills learned throughout her 4 years at college. LA Vocal Tuition also offers vocal recording sessions and singing birthday parties. Ruairidh came to Edinburgh College to sit his Highers after having had a difficult time at school. He studied here for five years, eventually completing his education with a first class honours degree in Popular. Ruairidh says that the varied opportunities he had at college not just the tuition he had on his instrument but also the chance to perform with a wide variety of musicians were the perfect launching pad for his current career travelling the world as a musician on cruise ships. Ruairidh said Studying at Edinburgh College gave me the confidence and the courage to be ambitious with my musical goals and I am forever grateful to the staff for their knowledge and guidance. I would highly recommend studying music at The Box - it just rocks your socks! LAURA BROWN MUSIC STUDENT 2015/2016
