SPRING PROGRAMS Girls Volleyball For girls grades 5 thru 8 Fee: $150 Program held at DMS April 24-May 31 Tuesdays and Thursdays Gr 5&6: 3:30-5pm Gr 7&8: 5-6:30pm Note: There are limited spots available in this program so make sure you sign up early! This popular program is once again offered in the spring and will focus on skills, drills, game play, court sense and fun! Each age group will be split into developmentally appropriate levels. Adult Tennis For adults ages 18+ Program held at the Alden Street Courts (behind Duxbury library) May 2 May 30 Mondays and Wednesdays Beginner:10-11am Adv Beginner/Intermediate: 11am-12noon Experience the fun and excitement of tennis as you acquire and develop new playing skills and meet new tennis playing friends. Sharing the experience can make it more enjoyable so invite a friend to join you on the court and learn tennis together! Licensed instructors and veteran horses start the riders with basic horseback riding skills, including balance, strength and coordination. Continued study is possible after completion of the program. DUXBURY RECREATION DEPARTMENT IMPORTANT INFORMATION How to Register: Register online or in person at the Rec office (22 Washington St.). All registrations are processed through Activenet, our registration software. All participants must have an account in order to sign up. Note: You are not registered for any program until payment has been received. 1. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel/change any program. 2. Registrations are done on a first-come-first-served basis. We cannot take registrations over the phone. 3. Any late fees collected are non-refundable. DON T LET A GOOD PROGRAM DIE! Nothing kills a program quicker than waiting until the last minute to sign up! Calls and registrations received after the deadline cannot reactivate a cancelled program. Please register early! 5. The Recreation Department reserves the right to limit the number of participants to any program. 6. Processing fee charged for online registrations is non-refundable. 7. Refunds given only if notified up to 5 business days prior to the first day of a program or activity. A $10 administrative fee will be charged for processing the refund. If a program is cancelled by the Rec Dept, a full refund will be issued and no fee will be charged. 8. Children must meet age requirements prior to the start of any program.

Mini Dragons Soccer Academy (For boys and girls ages 4-5) Fee: $125 Program held at Lincoln St. field July 9-12 or August 6-9 (Mon-Thurs) 9-11am This program is fun introduction to the game of soccer where children are taught footwork, passing, dribbling, and shooting in addition to playing games. Director: Kelly Turner. Rec Summer Kamp (For boys and girls ages 6-12) Fee: 4 weeks: $400 1 week: $150 per week Program held at Chandler school on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays Tuesdays program is held at Duxbury Beach Fridays program is held at Percy Walker Pool July 16-August 10 Hours: 9:30am-2:30pm This is a 5 hour a day/5 day a week program that includes daily arts & crafts, sports and games. Beach day is held every Tuesday at Duxbury Beach. Every Friday program is held at Percy Walker Pool, for a day of swimming and outdoor play.

SUMMER PROGRAMS Basketball Programs 28th Annual Boys Basketball Clinic (For boys grades rising 5 thru 9) Fee: $225 Program held at DHS, DMS & Alden Gyms July 9 July 12 (M-Th: 8:30am-2:30pm) This popular program is back once again for the summer. Focus is on drills, games, and fun! All participants receive a t-shirt. Coaching staff includes camp Director, Gordon Cushing, Recreation Director and DHS Varsity Basketball Coach, as well as college and high school players. Skills & Will (For boys and girls grades rising 4-12) Fee: $150/session Program held at Alden Gym Week of June 25 th thru week of July 23rd These programs are designed for working on basketball fundamentals, functional training, and game performance. Structured games will be a part of each session to allow the player to build upon newly developed skills. Instructor: BILLY CURLEY, former DHS state champion, Boston College Hall of Famer, retired NBA veteran, and current head coach of the boys varsity basketball team at Emerson College. Children will participate in drills that will teach them about footwork, passing, dribbling, and shooting in addition to playing games. Instructor: BILLY CURLEY, former Duxbury High School state champion, Boston College Hall of Famer, retired NBA veteran, and current head coach of the boys varsity basketball team at Emerson College. Play Maker Basketball Clinic (For boys and girls grades rising grades 8-12 Fee: $250 (grades 8-12), $225 (grades 5-7) Program held at DMS gym Week of July 9th thru August 2nd This new 4 week program focuses on the concepts of basketball, teaching athletes how to play the game effectively as well as improving their skills to make the game more fun! Basics of team offense and defense as well as competitive skill development will be covered. Instructor: Matt Phippard. Matt is a native to Duxbury where he has helped with numerous basketball programs for many years. He is currently the Women s basketball coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology. Boys: (July 10-August 2nd) Tues & Thurs Grades rising 8-12: 3:00-4:15pm Grades rising 5-7: 4:30-5:30pm Girls: (July 9-August 1st) Mon & Wed Grades rising 8-12: 3:00-4:15pm Grades rising 5-7: 4:30-5:30pm

SUMMER PROGRAMS Tennis Programs Tennis Clinic (For boys and girls ages 8-14) Fee: $150 Program held at DHS Tennis Courts June 25-29 (Monday thru Friday: 8am-12noon) Emphasis will be on conditioning, individual ball skills and fun! Coaching staff includes camp Director Craig Drilling, Director of Athletics at Brandon Hall School in Atlanta, Ga., as well as counselors from local colleges and high school. Kids Tennis Lessons (For boys and girls ages 8-14) Fee: $95 Program held at Alden St. tennis courts Week of July 9 th thru week of August 6 h (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs between 8am-12noon) A low key, fun tennis program where children are grouped by ability Beginner through Advanced. 1-hour lessons are held twice a week at the Alden tennis courts, behind the Duxbury library. Schedule is as follows: Monday/Wed or Tues/Thurs 8-9am: Beginner 9-10am: Advanced Beginner 10-11am: Intermediate 11-12noon: Beginner 11-12noon: Advanced (Tues & Thur only) Adult Tennis Program held at Wadsworth Tennis Courts July 1-July 30 Mon & Wed / Beginner: 6-7pm / Adv Beg & Intermediate: 7-8pm A Summer evening tennis program will be offered to Duxbury adults who are at beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate levels. Baseball Clinic (For boys and girls ages 7-12) Program held at the Tarkiln Baseball Field July 23 July 26 (Monday thru Thursday: 8am-11am) Emphasis will be on a combination of skill development and fun. (T-shirt for each participant). Coaching staff includes camp Director Steve Studley, Assistant Recreation Director, Coach for Wentworth College Baseball Team, as well as college and high school players. Ice Skating (For all ages) Fee: 7 weeks: $155 Program held at the The Bog, Kingston www.bogiceskating.com Tuesdays @ 5pm 7/3-8/14 Thursdays @ 11:30am 7/5-8/16 These introduction to skating lessons consist of a 40-minute lesson and 10 minute practice skate. SUMMER PROGRAMS Horseback Riding Clinic (For boys and girls ages 7-12) Fee: $325 per session Program held at Timber Hill Stables, Kingston, www.timberhillstables.com Sessions offered: 6/25-6/29, 7/9-7/13, 7/30-8/3, 8/6-8/10, 8/20-8/24 (M-F 9am-12noon) This program is for boys and girls ages 6 and up. Along with a daily riding lesson, participants experience daily horsemanship care including feeding, cleaning, and grooming. Girls Field Hockey Clinic (For girls rising grades 5 thru 9) Fee: $100 Program held at Taylor field July 9-12 (M-Th) 9am-11:00am Players will work on field hockey skills while also working on agility and conditioning. Emphasis on skill-building, training and fun! Instructor: Caitlan Sheehan, current teacher at DMS and former DHS coach, as well as well as counselors from local colleges and high school. Early Bird Bootcamp (For women 18+) Fee: $65 per session Program held at Tarkiln Community Center Sessions offered: May:5/1-5/31, June: /1-6/29, July: 7/6-7/27, August: 8/1-8/31 Tues & Thurs 5:30-6:30am Get ready for the beach! This is a total body workout that incorporates cardio, strength training and core work to challenge you and make you sweat! All fitness levels welcome! Bring a yoga mat, dumbbells and water to each class.
