Learn real-world skills to manage the supply and demand of local, imported and exported goods applicable to any industry, from fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) to real estate, telecommunications and event facilities. With the added convenience of being intensive and completely online, the Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain and Logistics Management provides an excellent pathway to the Master of Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Program details Fees 2018 tuition fees are AUD$3720 per 12 credit point course, totalling AUD$14,880 for 4 courses. Program intakes 6 intakes annually (January, March, May, July, September and October). See our Fees page for information. Fees apply to 2018 only. Fees are adjusted on an annual basis and these fees should only be used as a guide. Pathways Program duration 4 courses 8 months intensive part-time. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate you may continue on to further study at masters level. The Graduate Certificate is an entry pathway to the Master degree for some students. Each course is 7 weeks in duration and requires a minimum of 15-20 hours a week study. 4
Program details Entry requirements An Australian bachelor degree or equivalent (or higher level qualification), in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution. If you do not meet the above entry requirement for the Graduate Certificate you may be considered if you have 5 years of work experience. English language International students are required to provide current evidence of English language proficiency for admission to RMIT University. You can provide your results from one of these three options: 1. an accepted English language proficiency test, or 2. an accepted English language provider, or 3. a recognised Australian or international qualification. Australian Student Visas RMIT s Online Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain and Logistics Management does not meet Australian student visa requirements. Course descriptions Supply Chain Principles Be introduced to the basic concepts and principles of supply chain management and logistics, with a focus on operational excellence, supply chain integration/collaboration and virtual supply chains. By exploring inventory management, just-in-time and e-supply chain techniques, you ll develop an understanding of the supply chain principles. Using case studies, you ll also discuss issues which affect organisations supply chain including integration, coordination and collaboration. Supply Chain Modelling and Design This course extends the data analytics covered in Business Analytics with an emphasis on logistics supply chain contexts. With ever increasing customer expectations and the massive flow of data throughout supply chains, the ability to make decisions is growing more complicated. Supply chain is in a unique position in the cost structure and operations of a business to identify opportunities for savings and efficiencies, using real time data to deliver analytical insights so that the enterprise remains competitive. Business Analytics Be introduced to the concepts, fundamentals and tools for collecting and analysing big data in business. In this course, you will learn how data can be used to drive decision-making through statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modelling and fact-based management. You will develop, evaluate and analyse core analytic techniques and skills that are applicable to contemporary business management and decision making. No matter what your business focus, you and/or your business will be a future user of analytics. Business Project Management Develop and apply expert judgement in the selection, implementation and development of sustainability assessment tools that meet project needs. This course will allow you to consider building assessment tools through a critical lens, by developing knowledge of fundamental sustainability concepts then applying this knowledge to evaluate the tools themselves. 6

What you can expect from each course Initial communication Students can utilise the online forum to introduce themselves to each other and to course instructors. This is where students can form study groups and find information about course topics, teachers, content, assignment key dates and grading considerations. Synchronised study sessions These sessions are available for review purposes and to bridge gaps between the content and student comprehension. With at least one per seven-week course, they are scheduled well in advance to facilitate student planning. Times are rotated to accommodate students in multiple time zones and sessions are recorded. Learning content format Learning materials consist of a variety of components including video, text-based content, animations and more. Each week s content is clearly presented and linked to stated learning objectives, as well as overall course goals. This provides an environment where students can monitor their progress and prepare for upcoming concepts and learnings. Discussion boards The discussion boards are open throughout the duration of each course, and help promote critical thinking and interaction. Instructors utilise tagging/reply features to ensure that all students get important program and course notifications. Discussions are created and moderated by the course instructor or section instructor, and can be included in participation grades. Assessment While you will have no formalised on-campus exams, all RMIT postgraduate programs include rigorous assessments in the form of case studies, reports, online discussion interaction and engagement. This ensures that all learning is valuable, authentic and applicable to your work immediately. There may be some tests, quizzes or other online assessments, however you will not have to attend traditional on-campus examinations. Ongoing support and re-enrolment Each student will have a dedicated advisor via our study concierge service to help guide and motivate you through coursework, enabling you to manage your study/work/life balance, and help keep you informed of re-enrolment for upcoming study periods. This one-on-one support continues through to graduation. 9

Dr Ahmad Abareshi Senior Lecturer Ahmad has a range of research interests including the IT/IS capabilities, green logistics, supply chain and operations management, artificial neural networks and quality. Many of his manuscripts have been reviewed for journals and conferences, and are acclaimed internationally. His teaching specialties at RMIT are in operations management as well as supply chain design and analysis, logistics systems and applied data interpretation and utilisation. In addition, Dr Abareshi is an active member of the industry body, Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) as well as the Australian Computer Society (ACS), Platform Technology Research Institute (PTRI) and National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). Guiding the development of the College of Business is an Industry Advisory Board of high-profile executives, chaired by Deloitte s Chief Strategy Officer, Gerhard Vorster. The Board creates a strategic bridge between the latest in technology and design, thinking and business. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the industry through regular contributions from company representatives. These include the Port of Melbourne Corporation, Coca-Cola Amatil, Cadbury Schweppes, Nike, Adidas, Toll Holdings and more. 10
I have a broad experience base, having worked in the US Singapore, Kuwait and India, but I want to get back into the supply chain management field.
