INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TESTIMONIES [ Jacqueline Rauhaus ] Erasmus student from Bonn, Germany. When I applied to the UBO in Brest for my Erasmus semester, nobody understood why. Everyone advised me to choose a bigger city, but I stuck to my choice and I didn t regret it! It rains quite often, and there are no extraordinary buildings like in Paris, but Brest and UBO offer many other things. First of all, I really appreciated the friendly atmosphere in the Faculty of Arts. Everyone was very helpful, even people I didn t study with. I liked going to the cafeteria to eat a veggie sandwich or a croissant. Through the university s sports program I got the opportunity to try nautical sports, which I had never done before. There are also many opportunities to have fun outside the campus: the city offers a wide range of cultural activities and there are lots of natural areas around Brest like the botanical gardens, beaches and hiking paths Britany is very beautiful, even my friends and my family who visited me had to admit it! [ Nan Zhang ] student from China I have been in Brest for four years and I am currently doing a Master s degree in International and Multilingual Project Management. During my time at UBO, I have made a lot of amazing French friends. They have showed me around and helped me discover French and Breton culture. In my free time, I take part in different activities that are organized by the university, such as Zumba or rock classes. I think Brest is a lively city and every year I like to take part in the city s different music festivals, where I can have fun and meet more people. 15
