Parents/Guardians must have direct communication with the coach if they will be taking their child home after an away athletic event. Reminder that PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON SCHOOL GROUNDS. Please do not bring pets to outside athletic events. Thank You! The opening whistle... Over the past two weeks we have had some good weather as well as some very rainy days where our student-athletes have braved the elements as they know we are getting backed up with games. Here are some highlights from our last issue: Our Boys Tennis Team is still undefeated at 14-0! They have also captured the TVL title. Great job! Congratulations to Ali Jordan who scored her 100th goal in a game vs. Algonquin earlier in the season. This is quite a feat...nice job Ali! Thanks to the DS Boosters and all participants who took part in their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, which was held on May 8th! The Boys Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team broke the school record at the Weston Twilight Meet on May 6th with a time of 11:18.80 (Searle, Hartley, Robin and Phelan). I would like to wish former head boys hockey coach Jeff Moore and former head football coach Brad Pindel the best of luck as they move on from DS. Both of these coaches have done a great job working with our student-athletes over the years. Thank you! The boys track and field team has some impressive wins as of late. They are now 5 and 1 going into the TVL Championship next week at Bellingham. It looks like they have a real shot at taking home the championship! Best of luck! Post-season tournaments will begin a few weeks...stay tuned!

Page 3 Student-Athlete Profile... Ali Jordan: Ali is a senior captain on our girls varsity lacrosse team. Ali scored her 100th goal earlier in the season vs. Algonquin! So far this season she has 48 total points (29 goals and 19 assists). Coach Barry had this to share: Ali is a dynamic attacker and great leader for the girls lacrosse program. Her powerful lefty shot and precise aim has helped the team to a 10-3 record thus far. Ali will be playing lacrosse at the collegiate level next year at Amherst. Best of luck to Ali and the rest of the girls lacrosse team! Ross Barnard: Ross is a senior goalie on our boys varsity lacrosse team. Ross is having a great year in goal for our boys lax team, averaging 16 saves per game. Coach McLaughlin has this to say: Ross has been a leader for the DS defense all season, saving 66% of all shots he sees. He has very good technique and positions himself well to make saves. Ross has achieved a lot this season while playing some of the best teams in the state including Lincoln- Sudbury and Medfield. Best of luck to Ross and the entire boys lax team as the season continues. Jake Budd: Jake is a senior captain on our boys varsity tennis team. Jake, and his team, are having a fantastic season thus far. His individual records are 7-2 at third singles and 5-0 at first doubles. The team is currently undefeated at 14-0 and have locked up the TVL title. According to Coach Kirby, Jake is an outstanding captain and leader on our team. He is a special individual, one of the best I have encountered in my nearly 40 years as a teacher and coach. Best of luck to Jake and the entire boys tennis team as the season continues. Meredith Allen: Meredith is a senior captain on our girls varsity tennis team. A four-year member of the DS team, she has developed from a two-year first doubles player to the teams first singles player this season. Coach Raymond added this: She is well respected by her teammates and her opponents as an accomplished athlete and student who brings much focus, power, intensity, drive and strategic play to the game. A multi-year TVL All-Star, Meredith is a great role model for other members of her team. Best of luck to Meredith and the entire girls tennis team.
