Highlights The national leader in graduating African American students in the areas of Leisure and Fitness Studies. The only HBCU participating in the Eduventures Learning Collaborative, to help SOEs address recruiting, accountability, and management challenges. The only HBCU selected to participate in the Hattie Strong Scholars Program, which includes a 10K award. Produced the two most recent Principal of the Year award winners in the Guilford County Schools. The first HBCU to host the ETS Invitational Conference for Minority Serving Institutions. This project will allow alumni from all programs and schools to actively support the SOE and University fund-raising goals.» The Friends of the School of Education will use this project to raise student scholarships, while also providing an opportunity for recognition and remembrance of alumni, friends, mentors, or other loved ones through the purchase of an inscribed brick which will be placed into the pathway. The SOE is actively partnering with Hispanics in Philanthropy, a nonprofit advocacy group, to develop an outreach and recruitment effort to students of Hispanic descent, both in high school and in community colleges across the state. www.ncat.edu Explore.
