His commercial clients include: Tiffany & Co., the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, TRW, and Johnnie Walker, among others. His work has appeared in The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Chicago Magazine, and other publications. 1

Darlene Greaves would like to step down as our Exhibit Chair (30 years). We are looking for volunteers to work with her to learn the position and take over. Fund Raiser 6x6 show and sale Help keep our wonderful program of demonstrations continuing! As costs of bringing the high quality of artists to demo for us has risen, it is necessary to raise funds for programing. The 6x6 show and sale will be an enjoyable way to do this! Any subject and medium, but only 6 inches square! PLEASE BRING YOUR 6X6 PAINTINGS (WIRED TO HANG AND ADDED BUSINESS CARD OR INFO ON BACK) TO THE MAY MEETING FOR THE JUNE 11 FUNDRAISER. The Fundraiser will be held during the Elk Grove Village Art in the Park event, Sunday, June 11, 2017. Thank you in advance for participating! 2

7th Annual Art in the Park This year the Elk Grove Park District is hosting the 7th Annual Art in the Park event. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 11th from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Elk Grove s centralized Village Green location. Similar to last year, the event will include juried art booths, a children s art exhibit, an open air studio, demos and hands-on projects, entertainment, and a silent auction. As a part of this event, the Park District would like to include the artwork of the members of the Artists Association of Elk Grove Village to recognize all of the talent within your organization. Artists are invited to bring one to three pieces of artwork to display at the event. If you are interested in participating, please let Shannon Elsey know by Thursday, May 25 th : (847) 690-1184 or selsey@elkgroveparks.org. When you respond, be sure to include your name, the medium and size of the piece(s) you are bringing, your address, and your phone number. Shannon will send out letters confirming the details for the day of the event and wants to make sure that you receive the most accurate information. This will be a wonderful opportunity to highlight the fantastic work that your organization does, as well as provide some exposure and camaraderie among local artists of all ages. The Park District hopes many of you are able to participate, and I look forward to hearing from you! 2017 Prairie Plein Air Competition and Show http://www.villageofschaumburg.com/depts/cultural/pca/visual/prairie_plein_air.htm The competition is currently in progress. Works will be displayed in the Prairie Center for the Arts gallery May 17-June 30, and will coincide with the 30th Annual Prairie Arts Festival. Piotr Wolodkowicz won an Honorable Mention for his painting in the Polish Arts Club of Chicago s 80th Annual Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture. The exhibition will be on display at the Polish Museum of America, 984 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, now through May 20th.
