Promise Project Geography Overview While Geography is an important piece of the Promise Project puzzle, it is not the driving force for the changes we are undergoing in our Council. The geographic changes are designed to complement the new volunteer structure and better support pathways implementation. The Geography team was comprised of a group of 24 Council volunteers and 16 staff members. The rationales behind the decisions made to geographic boundaries were derived from several data delivery methods. An e-mail was sent in September 2012 to 5,770 SUMs, ASUMs, Leaders & Co-Leaders of our Council with a link to an online survey, and paper surveys were distributed at the CTM6 sessions to gather information on driving distance limitations to meetings, events, programs, trainings, etc. Of these, approximately 456 surveys were completed and returned to the Geography team. The surveys were helpful to guide the decision making process for changes to our Council boundaries. Geography team members participated in 16 focus group meetings from October to December in areas across the Council where they engaged in conversations with over 40 volunteers serving on Service Unit Administration teams to discuss potential boundary changes and gather input directly from our membership.
