Access to Higher Education (HE) Higher Vocational Education Level Duration Qualification The Access to Higher Education courses available at Warrington Collegiate prepare students for higher level study at university or college. The courses are designed for individuals who would like to study for a Higher Education qualification but do not currently have a Level 3 qualification. To achieve an Access to HE Diploma, you will complete a programme of study which includes theoretical input and study skills. You will learn how to approach study and gain knowledge on the different techniques needed to be a successful student. The course is designed to ensure that you are thoroughly equipped for Higher Education. Student Finance* Tuition Fees for 2013/14 If you plan to study higher education at Warrington Collegiate in 2013/14, no student will have to pay for tuition fees upfront. The majority of students are eligible for student finance that will cover your fees and this won t be paid back until you start earning over 21,000 a year. Even then, you will only repay 9% of your earnings over this amount. Both full and part time students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan. Some students might also be eligible for a maintenance grant. For further information please visit www.gov.uk/student-finance 24+ Advanced Learning Loans The Government has launched 24+ Advanced Learning Loans. If you are aged 24+ and studying a Level 3 or above qualification (including Advanced and Higher Apprenticeships) in a further education or a training establishment, you may be entitled to an Advanced Learning Loan. To qualify for a loan you need to be: Aged 24 and over at the start of the course A resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the course Enrolling on a course at Level 3/4, such as A Levels, Access to Higher Education, Diplomas and Certificates, Advanced Apprenticeships or Higher Apprenticeships, Qualifications and Credit Framework Level 4 Certificate, Qualifications and Credit Framework Level 4 Diploma It is the responsibility of the student to apply for a loan.
