Handwriting Night in the MPR Join Mrs. Rosenthal on Wednesday, October 23 rd from 6:30 7:45 p.m. for an evening filled with handwriting improvement ideas. All grade levels are welcome! Donate Your New or Gently Used Books Donate your new or gently used books for our Fall Festival Book Sale! You may bring books appropriate for all ages to Room 2 either before or after school until Friday, October 25 th. PTA Fall Pledge Drive & Membership Drive. Remember to turn in your PTA membership and school directory forms to your child s teacher by October 8 th. In order to continue our support of Turtle Rock s many educational programs, we are suggesting a $220 per student donation, but will gladly accept any donation you are able to make at this time. Reflections 2013-2014 The Reflections theme for 2013 2014 is Believe, Dream, Inspire. Use your imagination to create a film, song, artwork, photograph, poem, short story or dance routine. You may enter as many times as you like in as many categories as you like. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form. Be sure to reflect the theme in your work. For rules and additional information, please visit www.capta.org. Entry forms are attached and are located in the school office. The deadline for entry submission is October 21 st. Completed entries may be dropped off in the school office beginning October 7 th. Important Policy Regarding Absences Attendance is one of the key factors in the overall academic and social success of our children. We highly encourage your child to attend school unless your child is ill or has a medical appointment. Please do all you can to eliminate or minimize vacation and other travel during school time. Vacations and family trips are considered unexcused absences. Independent Study Contracts will no longer be available, a policy adopted by all IUSD elementary schools. Remember to call the 24-Hour Attendance Line (949-936-6251) anytime your child is not in school. If your child is late for school he/she must check in through the front office so that we know he/she has arrived. IPSF Movies at Woodbury IPSF is partnered with Woodbury Town Center to offer Family Movies for free and $1 popcorn. To help defray the cost of the 6 th grade Outdoor Ed trip, Juice It Up will be here every Friday (unless it is raining) to sell smoothies. The smoothies come in two flavors: strawberry and mango.
