There are four objectives: profession training of artists and scholars in chosen areas of specialization, preparation for art educators, elective study for students in all areas of the university and service to the local communities as a source of cultural enrichment. The Department of Art is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The Bachelor of Arts Degree in art is a broad based liberal arts degree that provides a cultural perspective with a strong foundation in studio training. Admission Requirements: Admission to major is granted by the department. Minimum University admission requirements are: a minimum of 32 earned semester credit hours a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 Advising: You are expected to meet with your advisor on a regular basis to ensure courses are taken in an order that will lead to successful completion of the degree.
