FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & CONTRACT Fine Arts Scholarships are granted to successful applicants for 2017-2018 Fall/Spring/Summer semesters with eligibility reviewed after each semester to confirm the continuation of scholarship. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to reapply for a second year. No student may receive a scholarship for more than two years or a maximum of 60 credit hours whichever comes first. The Fine Arts Scholarship covers in-state tuition for Fall and Spring and Summer semesters, providing a $122 for each credit hour the student is registered for and the remainder will be moved to the students Smart Card and can be used for books or other supplies. Out-of-state and international students are eligible to receive a Fine Arts Scholarship, but they will receive funding only for the amount equivalent to in-state tuition. NOTE: Students who have already earned an A.A. or B.A., are NOT eligible. Scholarship students will be under the guidance of the departmental scholarship advisor, Tari Kendall, and of an assigned faculty mentor in their specific discipline area. Scholarship students are required to meet all the expectations of Santa Fe College and the Fine Arts Department. These expectations are outlined below and are supervised by the Fine Arts Department representative. Failure to meet these expectations will result in the revocation of the scholarship. To maintain a Fine Arts Scholarship, students must: (1) maintain an overall 2.5 GPA* (no grade lower than a C will be acceptable) (2) maintain a minimum of 12.0 credit hours in Fall/Spring/Summer term; 6.0 credit hours in Summer term.(summer terms are not required) (3) follow a program of study outlined by the Fine Arts Department, focusing on area of concentration. (4) actively participate in departmental events, productions and meetings as assigned by department chair and/or discipline mentor. (This requirement will include some evening and weekend commitments.) (5) abide by student conduct code and maintain professional conduct. (6) meet with departmental representative for midterm review and requirement fulfillments prior to registration of each new semester. (7) meet with assigned discipline mentor monthly and as scheduled by the advisor (8) notify departmental representative prior to any change in your academic schedule. (9) must not perform with outside groups without permission from the Chair of the Fine Arts department. *A grade of a D or "F" or W or I earned in any course will result in immediate scholarship revocation. **It is expected that Fine Arts Scholarship students will maintain the highest level of professional and personal conduct at all time. Scholarship students must abide by the Student Conduct Code of Santa Fe College and exhibit the highest standards of leadership and responsibility. Any student displaying irresponsible or unprincipled personal or professional behavior will be placed on probation and will have their scholarship eligibility reviewed.
