Children enjoyed talking about their characters and every child has now received their World Book Day token. The company which redeems the tokens has recognised last week s weather issues and extended the deadline for using them to Saturday 31st March. Reporting to Parents There are only three weeks to go until we finish school for Easter. Children have been working hard to achieve targets in their learning. Parents of children in years 1 to 6 will receive their child s report in the week beginning 19th March. Parents of Foundation children have been invited to a parent / teacher consultation. Advance notice Sports Day Wednesday 27th June 1:15 pm on the field. Fair Funding Thursday 29th March Break up for Easter Holidays Parents are invited to a Fair Funding for All Schools event on Tuesday 13th March 6:30 to 8:30 at the Stanbury Hall, Petroc College, Barnstaple. The event is free. A panel of school leaders, councillors, union representatives and parents will debate the funding issues affecting Devon s schools and what can be done about it. Friday 16th March Community Hall Car Park A wedding reception is booked for next weekend and the hall is being prepared from 2:30 on Friday afternoon. CLUB NEWS Choir Club Classes 3 and 4 Tuesday morning break This club is only open to children in Classes 3 and 4 as the children are working towards being part of an operatic presentation at the Devon Music Mix near Exeter in the summer. Football Club every Tuesday 3:00 4:00pm New Gymnastics Club starting next Thursday 3 4.30pm. Open to boys and girls. The children will be working towards taking part in the ND Schools Championship representing Marwood at the end of March. Any child interested in attending this club must be accompanied by an adult. The club is free and tea/squash will be provided. Anymore information needed then please see Nicky Cruden-Shepherd, Nic Blackmore or Jeanette Roome. Zumbakids coming soon Mrs Ley will be introducing each class to Zumbakids in the coming weeks. Please watch this space for details of an afterschool club starting in April.

MSA PAGE 9th March - BOOK SALE - In hall after school ( it is second hand books that parents/ children have finished with) 50p per book and 50p for a bag of popcorn 29th March - EASTER BONNETS - prizes for each year group and a small gift to each child in the school 29th March is also COOKIE DAY - bring your 30p 24th April - MSA MEETING - in hall at 1:30-3pm 15th June - BIG SHEEP - forms to follow and will need helpers to assist with raffle, form/ money collecting and on the day to help check people off the list on the door. 6th July - CAMPING - this is a provisional date at the moment awaiting confirmation from hall if available 26th Sept - FASHION SHOW There will also be a GRAND SUMMER RAFFLE - which we hope to coincide with Sports Day Helpers for any of the events, please email either myself mandymclaren@live.co.uk or school saying where you are willing to help.
