Test Settings in TIDE
Before Testing Prepare the room - before students arrive: Proctors must check the testing room for possible test question clues before each testing session. Charts, maps and other materials in the room that could assist students with test items should be covered or removed before the test administration. Turn on computers - login as student K-8: Use standard student login for the building High Schools: Use generic HS login Start the Secure Browser Use the OST Sign In Sheet to record student info; session ID; start and end times; TA signature; and student computer location.
During Testing o To ensure standardized administration conditions throughout Ohio, Test Administrators must print & follow the script contained in the Online Testing Highlights and Script READ ONLY THE SCRIPT DO NOT DEVIATE DO NOT ELABORATE o o o Test administrators must provide scrap paper and pencil / pen to students upon request. The online system will not enforce a time limit. Test administrators are responsible for ensuring that students complete each part of their tests within one school day. See Test Administrators Manual for testing times New this year. A timer will appear on both the student screen and the TA screen. This timer will not stop testing.
During Testing If a circumstance requires pausing the test, the student can do so from the student testing site or the test administrator may do so from the Test Administrator Interface. All breaks, including lunch breaks, will require the student to login again. Keep the testing tickets available. Students must not talk during breaks; restroom breaks must be taken one at a time; breaks do not reduce testing time. Upon reaching the last item on the test, students have the opportunity to review their answers and then submit their tests. If a student does not actively submit his or her test, the test will remain in paused status. After the close of the test session, tests in paused status will be submitted for scoring. Students must complete any given part of the test in one school day. They may not return to a part previously viewed the following day.
After Testing Immediately after the test ends, test administrators will collect the used and unused scratch paper. The test administrator must securely shred the paper locally. Collect TIDE Testing Tickets from students; once the tickets are no longer needed, they must be SECURELY destroyed, as they contain vital information on students.
Monitoring Test Progress in TIDE Several types of participation reports are available: The Plan and Manage Testing Report details all of a student s test opportunities and the status of those test opportunities. The Test Completion Rates Report summarizes the number and percentage of students who have started or completed a test.
